Appearance

As a cub, Kronos is a lanky and scrawny thing. It's immediately obviously that there's something wrong with this runty lion cub- he drags his body from the shoulders down on thankfully strong front limbs that function by some stroke of luck.

The cause of the cub's paralysis is obvious too. Five of the vertebrae below the shoulders are replaced by the mess of Peridot that serves as the young lion's stone. This stone grows over time as he does.

As an adult, it becomes further clear that this boy will also never grow a full mane. The scruff around his neck is thick, but the same earthy hue as the rest of him. His shoulders are strong and forelegs brawny by the time he reaches just four cycles. He's capable despite his disability.

His Stone is visible as extensions to each Spinous process, like slender, jagged green spikes down his back at varying lengths. Kronos has spasmodic mobility in his hind legs, but severely limited mobility in his spine. He's somewhat able to move about, but with uncooperative hind legs and a rigid spine, only in short, awkward bursts.

2-3 Cycles

His stone has grown and fused in some areas, now more resembling the spinal plates of a stegosaurus where it extends down his upper back. Kronos has lost all mobility and most of the feeling below his shoulders. He's strong enough to drag himself around a few meters at a time, and with a small body, he can still hoist most of his weight off of the ground to avoid scraping.

4-6 Cycles

His stone finishes growing as he does, and now looks more like the dorsal frill of a spinosaurus than plates. His upper back, below the shoulders, is absolutely rigid now. He can no longer lift himself off of the ground like he could before. He stays more or less in one place, and has scarring from dragging his hind quarters around.

All has settled now. Kronos bears his stone as a rather large 'sail' down his upper back.}

Personality

Even as a youth, he is intelligent and curious, almost to a fault. What he lacks in body, he certainly does make up for in tenacity and creativity. He manages to his capable front paws deftly, and is quick to become a crafty and intuitive creator of gadgets and gizmos. When he's not crafting, he's learning, studying, or experimenting. He shows little interest in magic, except when it can benefit his strides in Science!

On the flip side, he has a habit of getting too wrapped up in his schemes and experiments that he often forgets his manners- or that others even exist at times. He is also incredibly reckless and stubborn, which doesn't help his situation any, when he's half-broken physically.

As he ages, he learns to better respect the needs of others, though their wants, he couldn't care less about. He becomes better able to adapt, socialize and coordinate with others, though he doesn't bother to hide his disinterest or irritation at having to rely on others at times.
