Appearance

SAVE ME!
GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE
I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE AND MY DEAR,
IF YOU CAN HEAR ME JUST WALK AWAY

This one walks in complete silence. Even her nails don't click against the cave floor like other Gembound; she almost glides, ethereal-like, through the tunnels. Her ears are high on her head and her eyes are open and nearly unblinking, silently alert, always watching like a small prey peering out for a lion.

She is not, however, small. At about four feet at the shoulder she's taller than most wolves but sleek and light, suited more for agility and running than she is for brute force and fighting.

Her body is gentle, somehow, and agile-- slate-grey fur blends to neon teal at her extremities and a fanlike tail keeps her balance and helps her jump just a little further through the air.

She is also remarkably fluffy, thickest around her back and cheeks. The fur along her shoulders and side on the left side of her body is parted with long, deep gouges that look like they may have been caused by something with large talons. The scars don't seem to prohibit her from moving.

A hunk of Labradorite is stuck to the roof of her mouth, glinting blue-orange in the light when she speaks. Her tone is often quite soft, though when agitated is laced with a very gentle growl.

Personality

WHAT AM I TO DO WITH ALL THIS SILENCE?
SHY AWAY PHANTOM, RUN AWAY TERRIFIED CHILD
WON'T YOU MOVE AWAY, YOU FUCKING TORNADO?
I'M BETTER OFF WITHOUT YOU TEARING MY WILL DOWN

Cautious. Careful. The traces of mischief and humour she once held in stride is hidden underneath layers. Without her brother-- her other half --she does not know who she is, where she is, or what her purpose is. She only remembers running, surviving, outsmarting others.

Needless to say, it's difficult to grab a conversation with Labradorite. Although she isn't a coward by any means, she's more inclined to ignore others and go about her own way than she is to stop and chat, particularly if she needs something.

Though, that's not too much of a change to how she was before. Whether or not she manages to establish a few friends outside of the tiny amount she has already is a tale for the future, but for now she stays in relative solitude, silent and sentinel-like in her vigil.

What a wet blanket.

Labradorite at least retains one good quality: she's loyal. Although this loyalty is very rarely given out, it makes her a creature that definitely runs on a 'ride or die' philosophy-- she'll do what she can to protect others and ensure their survival, given that they're deemed worthy.

Perhaps, if someone managed to writhe underneath her exterior, they might find a way to dig out the humour she once so proudly held in stride.

History

THEY PROBABLY WENT IN HER ROOM
THEY PROBABLY THOUGHT SHE'S ASLEEP
SO WHAT KIND OF GOD LETS CHILDREN DIE?
THEY PROBABLY THOUGHT SHE'S THE SAME BUT SHE'S NOT THE SAME

It comes to her in flashes.

An endless expanse of sand. Trickling fear in the back of her neck. She runs and she knows the only one she can trust is just above her-- Desert Rose thirty-five. Her brother. She was Labradorite five-four-six. They had to run.

She couldn't remember why.

Where is he now? She knows an expanse of something else; caves and a ceiling over her head. Cold mist. Was he dead? Stone gone, like the others?

She has to find him. She has to find him.
