Appearance

It is a sleek, feathered serpent, about six feet nose-to-tip. It's face is shaped like an arrowhead with a crest along it's center. It had three nostril holes along this crest, and three sets of eyes arranged on either side.

While in flight, it's body resembled a serpent of sorts, while when standing it has a similar centaur-shape due to it's unknown lifegiver. It stands one foot at the first shoulder. It's chests- both it's 'upper' and 'lower,' as referenced when standing- are large, to support a well-worked respiratory system. The rest of it's body is slender, muscle around bone and nothing more. It has the hollow skeleton of it's stonegiver. All in All, this makes for a creature that, despite first impressions, is capable of flight.

Gills cut in along it's ribs, allowing the creature to breath underwater. Oil slicks it's feathers, only heavy enough to hinder flight after it has recently eaten, when it's Oil production is at its most. It's blood, eyes, and insides all glow a vivid red-orange. It's nostrils and gill slits have a slightly dimmer glow. It is mostly covered in feathers, except for it's face and legs, which are covered in armored chitin.

As a child, it is tiny, 1 foot tail-to-tip. It's feathers are downy fluff, frequently soaked with oil, making it look pathetic and soggy. Around three cycles flight feathers will grown in. It's gemstone is a piece of Pallasite, replacing their keel bone and protruding just barely among feathers. When it uses magic, the inclusions within the Pallasite glow, as if lit from behind by a bright light.

Personality

They are a lost child in every sense of the phrase.

They are alone in the world, without any sort of guidance or protection. They are curious, but will quickly grow cautious once it learns that there are dangers in this world. They will wander, never sticking in one place very long. Looking for curiosities and belonging and.. whatever they are missing.

What they are at their core, however, is bright. Mind and spirit and magic too. All luminous and hot. A lit flame. It will be fascinated with fire, with warm and burning and smoke. It will cultivate fire, perfect its use. They will be a Campfire and Burning woods. Hearth and House fire.

A useful tool. Dangerous when left unchecked.
