Appearance

Lethe is a big, thick-skinned creature with big, fluffy dark gray fur, tinged slightly with blue and flecked with silver. As a baby, she is much darker then she will be in the future - almost a jet black in color, her fur dull and short. However, as she ages, it will grow out and become extremely glossy. The only part of her fur that isn't the same steel-gray color is her muzzle and round ears, which are a silver in color. Her head is slightly lighter then the rest of her body and sporting more silver then the majority of her fur. She sports bright silver whiskers on her lighter-colored muzzle, standing out against her dark fur. Her paws are bear-like in structure, with small claws and dark pads. They're easily made for grappling and climbing, just like her tail, which is long, slim, and very flexible. It can completely wrap around a tree trunk with some left to spare. It acts as almost like another limb when climbing, helping her grapple from branch to branch or, in the majority of the caves' case, rock to rock. Her eyes are a pale, dull olive color which compliments her gem - a collection of malachite shards just under her right eye in the shape of triangles. Fully grown, Lethe will be about 76 cm in size once fully grown, her tail, pulled out all the way, doubles her body length.

On the surface, Lethe is simply a lazy grump. She doesn't seem to care about anything and doesn't like to talk unless its necessary. She doesn't particularly take to people easily, but that's not totally true. She doesn't really know how to talk to people and can never remember how well her last conversations went. Her memory is probably the worst part about her - she simply can't remember anything. This causes her to become bitter often and gives up on herself and the world easily. As she grows older, her terrible memory becomes such a vital part of her that she gives up trying to fight back against it and just lets things go the way they will go. This can easily be seen as laziness or apathy, but Lethe simply sees it as a conservation of energy, otherwise wasted.

That's not to say that Lethe doesn't feel emotion. She certainly feels emotion and its actually a lot easier then it seems to get her to show them. She just has certain lines that, if crossed, can really get her riled. First, if anyone ever makes fun of her terrible memory, she'll immediately lash back with not mercy. It's her worst sensitivity and her anger is swift coming and hard to melt away. Second, ignorance. She can't stand ignorant people and will constantly chastise and demean them. But she'll happily bring them up to speed on whatever they need to know. Third, bigotry. If anyone thinks of themselves as better then anyone else and uses that as a weapon, she will do anything she can to take them down. Of course, she won't seek them out unless she really has to. But still, she will never forgive assholes.

When it comes to good feelings? It sometimes can seem like Lethe doesn't have them. It's hard to get her to smile or even get an inkling of a good feeling. But perhaps those that are patient and really give an effort to help make her feel a little better about the world.

Lethe's disease of choice is pneumococcal meningitis. Her strain of bacteria specifically targets the brain and can cause meningitis very quickly. Upon using Micro Cloud, Incubate, or Viral Strike, she can cause these following symptoms, the severity and speed at which it infects dependant on success and intensity of spell:

Critical Failure: Lethe infects herself and causes symptoms as if she had gotten a Barely Successful.

Failure: Lethe fails the spell in one way or another. Nobody is infected.

Barely Successful: Disorientation, headache, fever, confusion, nausea

Successful: The previous as well as temporary memory loss, difficulty concentrating, sleepiness, stiff neck, light sensitivity, vomiting, loss of apetite, thirst

Critical Success: The previous as well as seizures, permanent memory loss, paralysis, coma

Upon rolling a critical success, if left uncured it is capable of killing, but only if you want your character dead. If not, it will eventually go away on its own. For any roll, depending on intensity of the spell, symptoms will get progressively worse with time. However, at any point, you may have it lessen and eventually go away - it's really up to you. It is also easily curable with fauna cleanse, although minor symptoms will last for a short period afterwards.
