At his hatching, Levi is about the size of a standard jaguar cub -- however, he looks nothing like one. His body is mostly covered in chitinous armor, forming a darkly-colored mask on his face that frames his eyes (one yellow, one blue) and his sharp, pointed beak. His three sets of short, pointed horns are framed by the rounded and jaguar-like ears behind them. The inside of his mouth is lined with sharp, carnivorous teeth and his whole head is framed by a short and strong neck.

He cannot purr, but inherited the stiff bone structure that leads to him being capable of roaring -- this is in addition to all the other vocalizations he's capable of. Broadly, his voice is rather rough; as he grows, it will become deeper, and will rumble with great volume simply due to his adult size -- twelve feet tall at the top of his head, when standing upright!

Ah, yes, and on that matter -- the hybrid has six limbs. The first is a pair of pterosaur-esque wings, which serve two purposes -- they can be used to support him in flight, or they can be used for added balance when walking bipedally. His front limbs are reminiscent of that of a jaguar -- heavy paws, retractable claws, and vague tufts of dark red and white fur largely covered by heavy chitin. His third pair of limbs are sort of shaped like a jaguar's, but have webbed feet and wicked (unretractable) claws.

He also has a long, mostly-furred tail that seems to be useful for balance in his quadrupedal posture.

As for colors, Leviathan is mostly dark red (#800000). His body is mostly covered in chitinous armor, but the gaps are filled by thick, reddish jaguar fur. His entire body is covered in dark brown rosettes (#1f1005) like those of his mother, though the color seems to congregate around his face to make his entire mask the same dark brown. His undersides are white (#dedede) like both of his parents's, and the edges of his wings are light purple (#b19cd9). One of his eyes is yellow, and the other is blue.

~5 feet at the shoulder when standing on all fours, ~12 feet at the top of his head when standing upright. horns might give another six inches or so?

Personality

Levi is born rather impressionable, which means he will quickly pick up aspects of his mother's personality. He will copy everything she does to the best of his ability, trailing after her like a duckling who has imprinted. However, one thing that will never stick is that her friendliness. Leviathan is not friendly.

He's not cruel, either, but his blunt manner of speaking and level-headed nature make him feel alien. He's rarely moved to emotion, and finds the idea of friends borderline distasteful. He's prickly and not easy to get along with, and is an intensely private creature. However, he has a soft spot for Kaimana -- she gets to see the warmest parts of him, and if he really trusts someone, maybe they will as well.

Leviathan is very much a momma's boy. If someone were to threaten or steal from him, chances are he'd ignore them entirely. He is not afraid of most Gembound because very few are larger than him, and he knows that Kaimana condemns violence. If he was attacked first by something large enough to injure him he might do something, but generally he doesn't care to act. If you threaten or steal from his mother, on the other hand, there will be hell to pay.

As Levi grows, he will prove intelligent. He assesses situations with the mind of an apex predator, and has a large vocabulary. That's not to say he's very talkative, though -- Leviathan certainly isn't waxing poetic about his fish, but he has a wide variety of words he can pull from and his memory is impeccable -- especially if he has been slighted. He might not be moved to violence, but he will never forget if someone has screwed him (or his family) over. This also makes him an excellent book-keeper -- Leviathan knows exactly when, where, and how much of something he or his mother has. Theft and dishonesty insult his intelligence, and he will react accordingly to those who try to stiff them.

Generally though, he lets Kaimana take the lead in trade, and this is one of the main reasons that he is disinclined to ever leave her, despite their differences. This is because Leviathan has one fundamental stumbling block -- he does not understand why his mother does not just take what she wants instead of offering up things she already has in exchange, no matter how many times the concept of trade is explained to him.

Finally, Leviathan struggles to remember his own size and strength. He usually has no desire to harm anyone, but being as large and strong as he is, it's easy to forget. Especially when he is young, "gentle" is hard for him to understand and it is easy to get cut on his sharp edges.
