Appearance

Lir

A massive creature, Lir cuts a form as impressive as he is tall. The caribou, once full grown, stands at nearly five feet at the shoulder, filling out his frame - though with the cave’s ever-temperate nature, there is no unnecessary winter bulk of fat or fur to widen him. His noble head sits topped with a crown of antlers held high - at peak growth they spread long and wide from his skull, their pointed hands reaching skyward. Nestled between them, at the base of his skull, lies an imperfectly oblong piece of amber - once the cervid is full grown, it will be about the size of a fist, gently disturbing the fur to part around its smooth form. Lir’s melanistic fur renders him somewhat distinctive, dark brown flanks coloring to near black along his legs and face. That graceful neck sports an impressive ruff, lighter still than the fur that surrounds it - the cream stands a stark contrast to the rest of his form. Sturdy, dark hooves carry him through the tunnels, ringed regally by the same cream fur that adorns his neck, long and gently curled. Black-furred ears twist this way and that beneath the crest of his horns, ever watchful for potential threats.

Personality

As a calf, Lir emerges into the world bright eyed and bushy tailed, approaching the world of Origin’s cave with all the wonder and awe his big heart can hold. Though eager for experience, he carries with him the caution that comes naturally to prey animals - appreciating each moment, but being wary of the scarier things in life nonetheless. As he grows and matures - if nurtured in a well and upright manner, or at least not steered in some other direction - Lir will become the gentlest of giants, helping to give back to the caves that gave him life, and the inhabitants therein, with the help of his botany magics. Quiet, but thoughtful, the caribou is not a leader - but though he will inevitably waver in his confidence at times, he will not follow blindly. He makes friends and alliances where he can, much preferring companionship to rivalry, and is slow to anger - his patience knows few bounds. That said, when brought to his limits Lir is righteous in his anger, willing to do what he can to stand up for the people and places he loves, even at the cost of his own well being.
