Appearance

As a Gemling, Llamrei is rather awkwardly built. Like many young horses, she is all leg, with little control over them. She has a delicate frame, rather like a story-book doe, as though she'd be easily crushed by a wayward glancing blow. Her pelt is entirely a dull black, with no hint of any other color. Even her mane and tail are black in color, a shade darker than the rest of her, without any sign of another color. She seems almost too big for her skin, with an awkwardness to her build. Her legs are too long, as is her neck, and her head is too small in proportion. Llamrei's eyes are a dark purple color, almost black. Her gem is on her forehead, where a unicorn's horn would be.

As she grows older, however, she seems to grow into her skin. The black of her pelt seems to darken, becoming a glistening color befitting a raven. She grows so that her legs are more proportionate to her body, more like a dancer than a giraffe. Her neck becomes high and arching, giving her a proper look. Her head no longer seems as small in proportion, and seems to be sculpted into a fine figure. Her eyes are a pretty, glistening bright purple. Her horn has grown, pointing and twisting out some.

After several bad falls during the Origin Olympics Obstacle Course, Llamrei has ruined knees. She is still able to run and walk, but the skin is visibly scarred, having been broken open.

Personality

Llamrei has rather strong prey animal instincts. As a filly, she frightens easily, and is damn-near terrified of predator Gembounds. She is afraid of the dark, and tends to stay near the more illuminated places. She tends to weigh things over in her mind before doing them, to the point of thinking things over excessively. If she sees any chance of getting hurt, or something going badly, she will avoid it to the best of her abilities. She is heavily invested in protecting herself, and isn't afraid to run away from... pretty much anything, even if that means abandoning others to danger.

As she grows up, Llamrei gains some control over her prey instincts. She isn't as likely to run away from everything, and doesn't startle as easily. She becomes willing to talk to, and befriend, predators, provided they don't try to harm her. Some of this newfound confidence comes from her size, as she is no longer so small or ungainly. She becomes rather protective, tending to take smaller and helpless animals under her wings. Rei still prefers not to fight, but will if she absolutely has to, and for the defense of others.
