Appearance

Macawi is a tiny little coyote, weighing no more than thirty pounds when fully grown. She consists of mostly tans and greys, with a few splashes of black and white thrown in. She has delicate legs and tiny paws, and because of this, she is very quick on her feet. She has a long tapered snout, like any coyote, and a cute black nose. Her pointed ears are very large, and look a bit too big for her head. Her eyes are a light brown/tan, and seem to gleam with some sort of energy. She is most often running, not walking, and moves with a spring in her step.

Her gem is Black Opal, very much more colorful than the name would suggest. It has flecks of every color in the rainbow, with a backdrop of dark greenish-blue. Nestled into her left cheek, it flashes in the light when she moves her head, catching the eye of anyone who happens to be looking at her. It is but a small sliver, and does not distort her facial features in any way, nor affect her vision. When she is standing still, it looks like a streak of dark against the tan of her face. When she turns her head, it lights up like a twinkling rainbow for a split second, then grows dark again until she moves once more.

Personality

Macawi is… an interesting character. The best way to describe her would be carefree. She is an explorer, and a wanderer at heart, never staying in one place too long. This also goes along with any friends she meets in her travels. She will be your best friend, but don’t ask her to stick around, and don’t try to tie her down. She is much too wild to have any real responsibilities placed upon her shoulders. She goes wherever the cave wind blows. She is one of those mysterious creatures who comes in and out of other’s lives seemingly at random. One moment she is there, and the next she is not, and one may not see her again for months, or it may only be a few hours.

The coyote seems to have no sense of self-preservation. She does foolhardy, almost stupid things on a whim. Dare her to do anything, and she would be hard-pressed to turn you down, even at great risk to herself. However, she’s not a complete idiot. If she knows bad things are about to happen, she will bail immediately, unless she is protecting someone else. She will protect others with her life, even if she knows them not at all, especially if they are younger than she is, or injured in some way. However, this doesn’t mean she’s got perfect morals. She’s Chaotic Neutral, more or less, doing as she pleases, but she is basically a good person. She would never kill an innocent Gembound, though she’d certainly start a play-fight with one!

She is an incurable trickster, and has an odd sense of humor, which fits her odd speech patterns quite well. (More often than not, she refers to herself in the third person, among the other strange ways she speaks). She loves to joke and flash grins and prance about when it pleases her, and then disappear like she was never there to begin with. But others will find that if they need her, she’ll suddenly be there, like she had always been there. She has a knack for appearing in random places, for seemingly no reason at all. Truly, she is a spirit who cannot be tamed, a coyote with a wild heart.
