Appearance

OH MOON, THOU PLUCKEST ME OUT, OH MOON-

Her fur has a remarkable quality in that instead of sleek and flat, it is curly. It is predominantly white; where the fur is thinner, such as around her snout, chest and stomach, her pink skin shines through. Rich silver frames her crown, arching up behind her eyes and chopping off at the back of her neck, also appearing down her back and the base of her tail. The dark markings fade into warm, smokey speckling. She has light grey freckling along her snout and cheeks.

Magdalena's eyes are quite spectacular - born blind, they are a pale straw colour. Her pupils are notably clouded; when caught in the light, her eyes may appear white. In the darkness, they have a deep golden gleam to them. Her stone is a beautiful and soft white marbled howlite. It grows in clusters from the top of her skull, curling around the back of her head and above her ears in a wreath-like fashion.

In her youth, Magdalena is an immensely gangly child with long, clumsy legs. Her eyes are often wide and unseeing, blindly staring past her companions. Long, pointed ears are usually slicked back, flopping against the back of her neck. Her thin, soft fur is wavy and not yet fully curly.

As she ages, Magdalena will reach a tall and graceful height. Her long legs, arched spine and tapered snout only act to exaggerate her poised and elegant appearance. Just like in her youth, her ears slick back against her head, folding naturally against the back of her neck. She continues to stare blindly into the abyss, unable to see - though she will have developed a habit of pointing her nose upwards as though staring through to the heavens. She walks with precision, each step in calculated meter, much like a nervous deer.

Magdalena is and always will be a sickly child. A deformity in the growth of her stone through the top of her skull has severed her optic nerve, rendering her blind. Her immune system, a result of her over-active magic, is weak and allows her to be vulnerable towards illness. Much as she despises it, Magdalena will always be dependent on others - not only to see, but to survive. As a child, she despises it because it causes her to harm others, even though she wishes no ill will upon them. She is quick to love and adore, which makes it easy for her to suffer guilt from depending on others. As she ages, however, her loathing towards her dependency is because of her general apathy towards others. All of her love will fade away and turn her cold and unfeeling.

Regardless of her development, she will always be a kind, polite and elegant dame. First meeting Magdalena, others are inclined to help her due to her pleasant behavior; in time, this becomes nothing but a ruse in an attempt to gain more hosts from which she may leech life. She is deceptively believable, and will come to feel no shame in lying to or using others. As a child, one should believe that she is innocently beholden to those that aid her - her apathy will not develop until her third or fourth host. Thus, in the beginning, it will be easy for Magdalena to find other Gembounds that she relates to or becomes fond of. Not so much later on. She tragically thinks of her blindness and weak immune system as a curse and despises herself for it - inspiring a burning fury within her that rarely makes itself seen, and encouraging her to become a powerful mage.

Aside from her penchant for deception, one thing that is true to her character is that she is mystifying, unintentionally quirky and distant. Only able to see through the eyes of others, Magdalena can often be found staring wide-eyed into the nothingness and slowly swerving, turning or tilting her head as she watches scenes unfold before her. She walks by pulling her legs up and extending them far, stepping lightly and slowly. Magdalena will often speak of things she sees or feels, things unsensed by her companions, imparting a general air of weirdness about her.

Magdalena has since discovered a restlessness and inability to sleep. She cannot dream, which she has deemed her only way to interact with Delphine. Because of this, she eventually develops a virus that puts her victims to sleep. She will use her Dreamwalk spell to manipulate them and search their dreams for Delphine, then heal them and effectively brainwash them.


Personality revamp:
Deceptive, Cold, Guiltless, Delusioned, Arrogant, Lustful, Murderous, Tactical, Quiet, Patient, Extremely Vengeful. Believes she is deserving of so much more and ruthlessly crucifies those that wrong her. Seeks targets to parasitize, infect with sleeping sickness, and wander their dreams as kind of a power trip/torture. Doesn't dream herself. Disdains children (scorned mother). Possessive of Nemesis and Hestia. Filled with hatred. Believes herself to be the real threat behind the Merrymen.
