Appearance

Mai will grow to be approximately four feet at the shoulder, weighing about two hundred pounds. Retractable claws hide in the front toes, and a third eye is situated atop the end of the tail. A dark, thick mane runs down the neck, back and tail. Tusks and horns provide some small defense. Mai is a Plant-element herbivore, preferring fruit, and at times also an insectivore, using a long tongue to swipe bugs from their nests. Lastly, Mai is bioluminescent, with the green-blue parts of their body glowing in times of excitement or heightened emotions of any kind.

Their gemstone is a brown agate with streaks of bloody red. It is located on the muzzle, a small dot like a mole of natural color among a sea of dark purple and neon teal.

Personality

Mai will be skittish at first, given all they've been doing for what they remember of their existence is hiding. This will change drastically once they realize nobody here is looking for them anymore, that they're safe. Then they will become a creature of childish recklessness, intense curiosity, rebellious spite. They will likely try to find answers- what they were hiding from, who they were hiding with and if they're still around. They will be quite social, and quickly attach themselves to others- namely Nameless, since she's the first person they will see upon waking up.

History

the child is just under one cycle old. They will hatch with only fuzzy memories of a dark place, of fear, and of hiding--among now-lost family--from hunters in the dark. They will remember being very young, and very confused, and afraid; they will remember being hushed, covered up, and ushered through shelters of stone and bone, urged to be still by frightened adults as strangers prowled outside the shelters. They will not remember much else; only, perhaps, that the waiting grew too long, and that--at least--they slept.
