Appearance

Malachai is definitely a beauty, at least once she has become an adult. As a cub, her fur is a ruddy, almost ugly orange-red color. Well, the majority of it is. Her legs have the typical sock-like markings of a Maned Wolf, reaching up to her shoulders, but are an odd, faded black color. The rest of her markings match, including the black on the back of her neck, the tip of her tail, her muzzle, and her ears. Her Gem, an Emerald, is rather small, at the base of her ear like an earring. She is almost ungainly, with legs that look too long for her body, and over-sized paws. Her ears seem too big for her head, flopping over under their own weight. Malachai's voice is high and squeaky, like she swallowed helium.

Once grown, Malachai becomes a true beauty. Her fur lightens to a bright red-orange, seeming to gleam and glisten, well taken care of. The greyish coloration of her markings turn a raven-wing black. Her ears don't seem as large anymore, instead seeming to be perfectly in proportion to her body. The same can be said about her legs, which, while still long, are no longer ungainly, and she has grown into her paws. She tends to walk in a stalk, with her head low and each motion fluid like a big cat's. Her voice has deepened, becoming a low, seductive purr.

Personality

As a Gemling, Malachai is a sweetie. She is nothing more than an innocent pup, wanting nothing more than to make people happy, and do good things. She is almost naive in her kindness, completely innocent to the cruelties of the world, and even feels bad when killing to eat. She treats everyone, enemies and friends alike, like her best friends, trying to help them and cheer them up.

However, a switch seems to go off in her brain as she ages. A sweet pup turns into a dark monster, kind mind turning calculating and focusing on, not the good she can do, but the bad. Instead of taking glee from helping others, she takes glee from seeing others in pain. She desperately desires for power, and a calculating mask hides a broken mind. Malachai becomes completely unhinged, going from soft and pretending to be kind, to baying and snarling in rage. There are often no signs that her emotions are about to change, and it is extremely easy to trigger.

She hates good-two-shoes, viewing them as a scourge. She loves to mess with them, pretending to be in need of their help, only to snap and attack them after she's gotten what she wanted. Malachai keeps those she thinks will be of use to her close to her side, and runs things with an iron paw.
