Appearance
NEEDS AN UPDATE.
Besides those imperfections, Nassir's pelt is sleek. Shiny and smooth like glazed and polished ebony. Bare memories of rosettes mar his flanks and tail, tinted slightly blue; they are void of any warmth, unlike his eyes, shimmering like molten gold in the forge. Both pupils are slightly glossy, fogged at their centers with forming cataracts. They don’t impair him in any way---other senses can compensate---but they prevail from poor nutrition and deprivation of essentials in his hibernation. When cast in just the right light, they shift and twinkle like distant, long-forgotten stars. At his tail’s end lie spines of clear quartz, weighing heavy on the final vertebra. They rise at a steady slope from his tail, laying quite flat to serve as both a bludgeon and a spear. Personality
Something has changed the common dark knight of old, rotting legend. He who once stood proud and trounced eagerly now snivels and perpetually keeps his tail low, ears alert, eyes wide. A multitude of neuroses spawned by visions of the faery realm have clutched him, dictating every behavior as he hyper-focuses on everything, all at once. Nassir cannot differentiate between sensory stimulus, often falling prone to sensory overload and shutting down. Every word he says must be analyzed, read into thoroughly. Any reaction of another gembound is absolutely scoured for implications of threats, fear, disappointment, negativity---but alas.
The worst thing is that Nassir knows he’s dying. He fears it, worrying fervently over it with every waking moment, glancing over how there’s nobody left to miss him. He's already done it once (he can't go back there, can never return---!), so it is enough. Despite nothing to cling to, his death is far from being preemptive due to the struggle for normalcy, a desire to return to what was before. Those ancient legends, corners torn and parchment stained by muck and mire, live on, dancing in the echoes of a fire’s light. A self-imposed destiny to destroy the fae that intrude upon the waking realm. Despite everything banging around in his head, Nassir's one purpose is his only true focus. It is the least he can do, lest he die trying. But nobody could ever possibly know that. He knows how to wear a mask, and how to keep others off of his trail until it all collapses, shattering, breaking into his bones and twisting those too. All's well that ends well! History
