Appearance

niru sports the average lion's golden coat, his mane intertwined with onyx and auric fibers. as he is in his younger years, his mane has not fully grown in yet. rather, he sports tufts of mane along the underside of his neck as well as lining down toward his shoulder blades. these tufts poof out about his cheeks as well. his eyes are a darkened jade hue, which is a rather dull appearance. niru will stand at about four feet at the shoulders, while weighing in at five hundred pounds when he's fully grown, but as an adolescent the young man stands around three feet and weighs in at about four hundred pounds. the boy will be heftier than the average while standing at the average. no scars litter the man's hide as of yet, as the inexperienced boy has not yet encountered one to spar with. aside from this, he is of the norm in regards to male adolescent lions. his gem, a tsavorite garnet, is a light, subtle green color and is located in the outer, middle section of his chest cavity. however, as he grows older and his mane thickens out, this lovely stone will be covered by the mass of ebony and auric fibers. The gem is a small, imperfect oval shape.

after a foolish endeavor to protect his father's honor and name, niru got into a spar with nemesis, the mutant rhino. of course, what is an adolescent lion even thinking when approaching such a monstrous beast? niru did not expect to win this spar, nor did he rise unscathed. blinded by rage, the brawl was a learning lesson for the young lion of 2 cycles, and was lucky to survive. after almost being thrown off the gorge of monoceros, niru scurried out of the area and back to the tower of orion. he sustained three large gash-like scratches to his body. one running diagonal across his midsection, one running up the length of his neck - which is covered by his thick, heavy mane, only able to be seen by the small part of it peeking through the fibers - and two more to the face. one running up toward his muzzle near the boy's mouth, and one across the top of his nose. the scars on his side and neck span about 2-2 1/2 inches wide while extending a good 12 - 12 1/2 inches long. the scar near his muzzle is about 1 inch thick, spanning a matter of 3 1/2-4 inches. the one across the top of his muzzle is about half an inch thick, while only running about two inches long. no fur could ever hope to grow on these scars, leaving them forever exposed - aside from the scar on his neck, of course.

arrogant;; alas, the boy is without perfection and often fashions himself rather aloof among others. often times, he exercises his arrogance without his immediate knowledge.
proud;; without much to back it up, the man is rather proud in his wake. he likes to think he's rather amazing, and sometimes he can be. but an ego blow would absolutely fluster the boy. stroke it for him instead, yes?
serious;; fun and games aren't the boy's forte. joking around often leads to him being rather insulted with what the other is saying. even in his youth, he was far too serious for his well being.
genuine;; it's true, once befriending niru he's a very genuine man. too genuine, sometimes.
generous;; when friends are close enough, he will often share whatever provisions he has. any resources, secrets, tips, he'll spill them all. because his friend's(s) survival is essential to his own. niru values his friends very much so.
boring;; ultimately, niru is classified as boring due to his overly serious nature and unwillingness to be playful. not many things in life are fun for this tired hag.
strong-willed;; niru is set in stone when it comes to his will and his affiliations. he's not keen on giving up, nor will he succumb so easily to whims of things which oppress him.
indifferent;; upon initial meeting, niru is indifferent to many things, especially if his interest isn't spiked in the least. as a result, it's hard for him to make friends and keep conversations alive.
curious;; as most kitties, this little lion is not much different. curiosity holds the boy, he often investigates things just for the sheer mental thrill of it.
cautious;; a fool, he is not. niru would rather be safe than sorry, and sticks by that rule by always being alert and prudent.
adventurous;; as he's growing, niru has come to realize he rather enjoys exploring! though ever silent and stalkish in his endeavors, the young boy loves to map out the entire cave mentally.

when i was born, the first creature i met was a little lamb named wynry. he was kind to me, speaking to me in whispers as i reacted rather rashly with small hisses and discordant snarls. this is where i knew my name, and soon came to realize that i was a gembound, with a gemstone, with magic. but in the midst of all the commotion with just hatching, it was difficult for me to retain that much information all at once. i will always remember wynry's kindness, and if ever the little lamb needs a mighty lion's protection, i wouldn't hesitate to help him.
chapter two;; embrace
i soon took to adventure, venturing from my birth place toward the quadrant of orion. it was there in the main area that i met cancer, the mighty persian leopard. he wore a suite of armor, strapped with leather and sported lovely horns - which i soon found out was his gemstone. cancer took me in, fathered me without much hesitation. he taught me many things about magic, life, love, and even now, i'm still learning from cancer. i have devoted myself to him in many ways, as a son, as a friend. i will forever be loyal to him.
chapter three;; hostility and love
interacting with everyone during the beast's and centaur's battle was a life learned lesson for me. i then encountered a wonderful lioness known as makyna, who protected me with her own hide in order to keep me safe when the monsters clashed. many others were there, but hardly enough interaction was made due to the fact i was being protected while everything was happening. it was a strange occurrence, the beast, -- TO BE CONTINUED
