Appearance

Upon emergence, Oaken is a wobbly, leggy foal with bright blue eyes and a small, bushy tail. His coat is soft and velvety as a new babe, although grows coarse very quickly. His awkward, gangly legs scarely seem proportionate to his tiny, ribby body. The weirdness of such design leaves him very clumsy, frequently stumbling over himself as he figures out balance and counter-balance.

As he becomes older, his body will fill out into a sturdy, stocky conformation, with strong shoulders, a large rump and thick neck. The structure of his face gives him a gentle, wise look, with shining blue eyes and a roman nose. His long, flaxen mane drapes in mild waves. His tail remains short, but thick, and as a waviness similar to his mane. Oaken's unusual brown and white dual color resembles something like a splash paint, with round white markings above each eye.

The clear quartz crystal is smooth and round, protruding from the top of his tongue toward the center. The existence of the gem has left a permanent indention in the roof of Oaken's mouth; one that perfectly cups the round ball, meaning the equine barely notices it at all.

Oaken, at full maturity, stands at 14.2 hands (56 inches) and weighs roughly 900 pounds (give or take a few dozen).

Personality

In his youth, Oaken is a bit of a calamity. The ability to be considerate of others kind of goes over him much like an airplane might. Not out of malice, mind you. Between being a clutz and walking disaster as a foal and yearling, those around him may find him to be quite the chaotic being, especially during his ill-time pranks.

As energetic Oaken grows into a young adult, his inability to manage consideration of others transforms into willful arrogance. Thinking highly of himself, the stallion comes off as a huge know-it-all, even when he has absolutely no idea what he's even talking about. Despite sometimes sounding foolish, he holds a high head and a strong air of confidence.

While Oaken most certainly does not struggle with a God complex, many around him may find him equally as insufferable. The constant inflated ego rides on a false sense of skill and talent. What is the skill and talent of concern, you ask? Well, he's pretty certain he is a master of domestication and taming of lesser gembounded creatures. Good luck on ever talking sense into the fool. It's likely he'd try to pet a hydra lesser given the chance.

Despite all his flaws and annoying "quirks," Oaken is a lighthearted and charismatic horse, finding optimism in places where most might not find it (and sometimes where it shouldn't be). Friendships matter deeply to him, even if he really sucks at doing the work for it.
