Appearance

Vivianite is a Banded Palm Civet. He is just a tad smaller than an average housecat, but quite a bit lighter. His fur is very short and dense, and mostly dark cream color. Five dark, almost black bands go down his back, stopping a little more than half of the way down and fading into the rest of his pelt. The tip of his tail is the same color, also fading into dark cream. He has a stripe that starts in the middle of his forehead and runs down to the tip of his muzzle. Two other stripes surround it, starting at the base of his ears and running across his eyes to his muzzle. The tip of his muzzle is dark where the stripes converge, a dark, red-tinted nose-pad on the tip. He has large, dark brown eyes with a single white dot on the top, almost like eyebrows.

Newly hatched, Vivianite is the size of a kitten. The markings remain the same, but less distinct than they will be as an adult. His face is darker, and the pale ‘eyebrow’ markings are much harder to see.

His gemstone is a chunk of Vivianite, located on his left ear. It replaced the external ear part, forming a radio dish like formation of flat, green crystal chunks. This makes his hearing a little bit better on his left side, but can make it harder to differentiate sounds in crowded settings.

Both his front right leg and back right leg have been broken. This will take a few cycles to heal, likely not completely healing until he has finished growing. Due to how young he was when the injuries occurred, and how severe they were, he will not be unscathed. His front leg will at first glance appear to have healed perfectly, but it will ache and always feel slightly tender. His back leg, meanwhile, will be twisted inward, but not suffer from the chronic pain his front leg does. This will. however, make him walk with an odd, limping gait.

Personality

Being a child, Vivianite will trust nearly anyone and believe nearly everything. They will grow especially attached to the first couple gembound he encounters. He is very impressionable, and might try to mimic those who he is especially close to. He will generally try to make them proud, unless what they ask of him is obviously dangerous or harmful to himself or others. Even then, he can be convinced that it is still the right thing to do, and will usually believe others more than himself.

Vivianite gets bored incredibly easily, but lucky for him he’s also very good at finding ways to entertain himself. He is very social, and loves playing with other gembound. This includes lessers, and he can often be found playing ‘tag’ or ‘hide and seek’ with cave mice or any other critters he encounters. Despite the hunt-like nature of this games, he generally does not intend to harm the lessers he comes upon, sticking to eating fruit and insects rather than meat. Despite how fun playing with lessers can be, he’ll always play with greater gembound when he gets the chance. He’ll often try to nag others into playing with him, and even if they don’t want to play, he might keep trying to play with them anyways. Despite his insistence, he can usually tell when enough is enough and will back down when he reaches that point.
