Appearance

Her Gem - The smooth purple and blue gem (sugilite) that grew on the front side of her skull appearing to 'break' into three parts under the skin giving the illusion that she had 3 different stones. As she aged, more skin will pull back to reveal more of the sugilite, but there will only be three openings.

Child - (1-3 cycles) The female was a tiny thing upon her awakening, not even standing more then 2 feet tall; body was covered in a thin layer of fur with scattered markings across her back. These spots and stripes will help her hide in the brush, but with time they would fade. Penelope had a strange face to most, her nose stretched a bit from her face and a rub for a trail on her rump. At the end of her legs, she didn't have hooves but little toes.

Adult - (3-5 cycles) Once full grown, the spots and brown markings will fade, leaving behind a black and grey body. Where did those spots ago? Legs and head will darken but her middle will pale out. Penelope will not be a light weight for sure, weighing in at 540 lbs and standing almost 3'6" at her shoulder with a length of about 6 ft. Better watch your toes around her!

Scars - While not technically scars, her eyes have paled with blindness due to a plague bestowed upon her by a crow once known as Dia. The same crow then attacked her many cycles later, leaving deep indentions from harsh and violent pecking upon her short neck.

Personality

The young tapir would start her life in the caves a very curious thing, always wishing to know more and more about the world of dreams since it was dreams that entertained her before she awoke from her shell. Some would say she was always day dreaming, keeping to herself and never saying to many things. Penelope was just a little shy and preferred to stand back a bit to observe the situations around her and get a better feel of them before she did anything else. Yet, if you mention a dream, she will be glued to you til the end of your tale.

The shy, yet curious nature of the ever-innocent tapir lost out against a rather sadistic bird. With the plague of Dia stealing her sight, her growth toward the personality she could of had stunted, the ability to observe with the curious nature she had felt stunted and tainted... stolen by a white, evil demon. For many cycles, the demon continued to haunt her, even attacking her again, throwing her deep into a cycle of depression and anxiety.

Penelope is now a sufferer of PTSD with little to do with the curiosity she was born with. Shyness warped into distrust, observation became clouded with anxiety, and her outlook turned bleak. Will she ever become who she could of been?
