Appearance
Perseus` stocky, robust frame and shaggy auburn coat are intimidating to some Gembound - raw muscle ripples beneath the fur. On the other hand, most of the Origin Cave`s inhabitants are immediately more wary of Percy`s Life Stone, a chunk of barstowite bristling with needle sharp, tusk-thick shards capable of serious harm. Percy`s white muzzle twitches constantly, his sensitive nose picking up the scents of the Origin Cave. His arched eyebrows and versatile ears are also off-white, and the cream "bib" on his chest is downy and soft. His long lean neck also supports his magnificent horns, sixty centimetres of dangerous but beautiful tools. Percy`s strong torso smells musky, because of the substance that his Earthern brethren produce when sexually excited. Percy, however, produces it naturally - its waterproofing ability is a great asset in the Origin Cave. All of his splendour is supported by short but strong black legs. His silky tail is about 30cm long, and flicks away the parasites of the caves with instinctual ease. Surrounding his tail - on his rump - is a near-perfect circle of short white hair, the identifying characteristic of his cousins on Earth. Perseus` size, stature and appearance is altogether threatening to most (despite his personality).
Personality
Perseus is a gentle giant. He is a non-violent Gembound (albeit a large muscly one with horns, and spikes growing from his face) and promotes the peace and wellbeing of all. Like all waterbuck, he can`t tolerate dehydration and loves water. He haunts Eridanus and Pisces, where his sweet demeanour and helpful nature is always quick to charm. As the Origin Cave is underground, there is no dry season, and Percy can eat rushes and grasses to his heart`s content. Unlike his Earth-dwelling relatives, Percy often forages for leaves, shoots and fruit - perhaps the abundance of flora and his you-only-live-once attitude give him the option of treating himself. When not swimming, foraging or helping other Gembound, Percy hones his mind with the power of the Arcane - hoping to gain control over his environment in order to help others and make himself more comfortable. Whilst he likes to be safe and unworried, like all Gembound, Percy isn`t ambitious - he is content with the underground world he lives in (which is coincidentally perfect conditions for waterbuck). Percy sometimes feels a little lonely for lack of his own species, but has friendships throughout the cave that make him feel loved. Now those Gembound - his friends - he would use violence for.
