Their gemstone is a blade of dark green obsidian on the end of one of their tentacles. In their early cycles it's a massive, oversized hindrance, but as they grow it will become a useful tool for crafting and defense.

In a humid cave they can stay on land for about an hour without the assistance of spells. In dryer caves they dry out significantly faster, but regardless spells like Airdrink and Retention greatly extend the length of time they can spend on dry land.

Their voice is oddly musical for such an alien looking creature, like birdsong.

Chrysalis consequence - Saran'zol's Glitch: Phelix will display either red glowing cracks or patches of coloration either steel gray, red, or black.

Phelix certainly lives up to this. He is both incredibly quick to learn and eager to do so. Very early on he will take an interest in crafting: first rudimentary trinkets made out of shells and the like, and then far more complex items made with the help of spells. He constantly gets bored rather quickly, seemingly unable to sit idle for too long. He hops from project to project, leaving behind many unfinished and forgotten works in the process.

He is a surprisingly social creature, happy to chat with just about anyone. He is easygoing, talkative, and fond of jokes and clever wordplay. He enjoys crafting things for his friends, particularly if they have a problem he thinks he can solve. This habit of problem solving does, ironically, sometimes cause problems. He can be a poor listener, more focused on providing solutions than emotional support, and he can sometimes try to 'fix' things that aren't even problems in the first place.

Despite being an aquatic creature, Phelix is far more interested in exploring the land. It's where all his friends are! Well, it's where Oswald is, at least. Inevitability he will grow curious of what lurks in the deep, but for now he is content with the shore and the shallows.
