Appearance

"Holy fucking shit" is a good way to greet xem as xe approaches you for the first time.

On most axes, Plover is large: Rather massively tall and wide with a fat gut, and stout, powerful legs to carry the whole ensemble with rather agile ease. Four arms bulk out the silhouette even further, and a dense mane and tail of white hair continues to add more bigness to xir frame. And, as if xe were not difficult enough to miss, the dense, seal-like fur coat covering Plover is quite green; clad from the head down in neon, with white gloves and black socks.

Xe has big teeth and claws and an intermittent few spikes and webbed feet; but, those aren't very interesting to wax on about, though. The real star of the show is Plover's distinctly alien skull.

It is both rounded and blunt, faintly cetacean in structure with the way beady, low-light seeking eyes are seated fairly far forward; except, xe is lacking a blowhole, and instead has three pairs of slitted nostrils that are capable of sealing shut. These eyes are just close enough to the point at which xir ear markings terminate to enable xem to be really very expressive. Massive ears can pivot nearly one-eighty degrees in either direction, and merely add to the show of whatever emotion is on xir mind. Thick, inky lips exist to conceal xir massive, serrated chompers, but they seem near-permanently peeled back to expose a toothy grin anyway.

Behind those teeth lies a long, sticky tongue not unlike an anteater's, and an excess of saliva containing a veritable menagerie of bacteria that make any residual bite wounds from xem an absolute nightmare to keep from becoming necrotic.

A freshly-hatched Plover is, of course, much smaller than the full-grown form; roughly five feet tall, and around one hundred fifty pounds. Xe's muscle mass and chubbiness are fairly pronounced, but not nearly as developed as it will come to be with the next four cycles of near-constant eating and activity, especially with how much swimming and fish-eating is on xir schedule.

At two cycles old, Plover is still nowhere close to xir final form. Yet, xe has grown quite a bit: Now around seven feet tall, weighing well over eight hundred pounds and gaining quite fast with an even faster metabolism to try to keep up with.

Three cycles old, Plover is rapidly approaching xir final height and bulk, with an increasingly voracious appetite and food-motivated attitude to match: Ten feet at the top of the dome, weighing a prodigious two (or so) thousand pounds.

Personality

When little Plover first emerges into this world, xe knows only one thing to be certain: "I'm hungry."

Some time after this revelation, there will be a second: The best way to find a nice snack is to just explore.

To put it more shortly, xe is food-motivated, and in every way but your typical physicality, a dragon. Not quite greedy, but just a bit thoughtlessly selfish. If something's too much an inconvenience, Plover will seek alternative means of getting whatever xe may want; if food is on the menu, xe will suffer any torment to get to that light at the end of the tunnel.

Everything is transactional from the start of xir life. What is put unto xem Plover will repay exactly. Scratch xir back, and xe will scratch yours; backstab xem, and you should run far from xem.

Not to say that Plover isn't at all approachable, though. Not with how Plover just instinctively is when fae rules aren't in play: A raucous, confident personality that clearly has nothing to fear. The world is xir oyster, and xe does not sequester themself away from meeting new people (and especially not from sharing an excess of good food with them), just to keep xemself totally debt-free.

Some of those people might even become more important than food.
