Appearance
As a hatchling, Qisziux is rather small- easily held by most other gembound. He is black with pale orange markings that almost look white. His body is banded with orange and black markings from neck to tail, with spots of the opposite color within each of the bands. His legs are solid black and equipped with claws that are good for burrowing or self defense. His head is mostly black except for a splotch of pale orange on the top.
As an adult, Qisziux is nearly 2 feet long. The pale orange color darkens into a vibrant orange warning of his poisonous bite. His markings are relatively the same, but the bands of color have become less distinct. They blend into each other with splotches of misplaced color, almost like marbling. The orange splotches spread to his legs, though they are still mostly black. Qisziux’s gemstone first appears to be a couple of scales of unusual shapes and sizes. It is actually a chunk of pyrite, located on the tip of his tail. Only some small parts of the gemstone are visible, appearing as strange, square-shaped scales. The gemstone is very shiny, and Qisziux may attempt to use this shininess to dazzle or distract others, though the effectiveness varies. Personality
Qisziux thinks of themself as extremely clever, and almost as beautiful as they are intelligent. They don’t boast all that often, but their overabundant confidence is clear from the way they hold themself, and the way they talk as if they cannot possibly be wrong. It can be somewhat annoying, and will definitely get them in trouble multiple times as they bite off more than they can chew. Qisziux also gets extremely embarrassed when they do fail. He usually pushes any thoughts of failure out of his mind, so when he does fail it hits him especially hard.
Their confidence is not completely unfounded. Qisziux is very smart, though not as smart as they’d like you to believe. He excels at problem solving- thinking of any possible solutions and systematically testing each one until one succeeds. He uses any tools at his disposal- especially magic, one of his favored tools. He one day wishes to fully understand the way magic works, to fully understand his favored tool, but that task is definitely one too big for him to complete alone. If you get past his overly large ego, Qisziux can be a decent friend. He can be a bit suspicious at first, but always polite and cordial. However, it is clear when he finally opens up and trusts you. He becomes more casual, and more genuine- not the rigid sort of politeness that's almost defensive.
