Appearance

Height: 26in | Weight: 90lbs | Length: 6ft 9in | Wingspan: 14ft 4in

She is a lean and slender creature, with an elegant, long neck and slender legs, thin frame and a deep chest. She stands about the size of a large dog, though her added fluff and large wings often make her appear bigger than she actually is. She is a perfect mixture of avian and feline features- the front and upper portions of her body more resembling her Hooded Pitohui Bird mother while her back end and belly are that of her Persian Leopard father.

Her coloration is fairly simple, but extraordinarily beautiful. Black plumage and fur covers her entirely, broken only by blood red markings which seem to frame her most impressive features. It curls around her upper beak, hidden by a long crest of black feathers like bangs over her face. The same red feathers cover the base of her neck and down her back between her wings, stretching to cover the shoulders of those feathered limbs as far as the elbow. Bands of red also frame the long primary and secondary feathers on the undersides of her wings, while remaining black on top. Her tail feathers, both at the base and tip, are also red, and the feathers around her front paws are tipped red as well. Her scaled front feet and beak are a darker black than the rest of her.

Her eyes match her Ammolite skull and horns- bright red and green and under the right light, occasionaly, one might find the rare fleck of blue hidden amongst the high-contrast stone and stare. Those horns are straight with only the slightest downwards curve near the ends, and they rest between her long, feathered ears in like with her brow.

Points of Interest:
- Her eyes are heterochromic, meaning that they are not just one color. Both eyes are red and green, with no visible blend between the two colors. Her horns are much the same, starting green and fractling to red at the tips.

- Her front paws have four toes and somewhat hidden dewclaws on each, like a cat. However, her claws do not retract, and so her digits look longer and appear to be better able to grab and hold. Those talons are very sharp, however, and she often cuts herself with them by accident.

- Though there are no plainly visible scars on Remedy's body at all, there are some hidden scars on her head, cheeks and shoulders, which are self-inflicted. This is from her bad habit of grabbing herself when stressed or over-stimulated. Again, those talons are sharp!

- Though she appears to have an entirely bird-like face (except for those obvious ears), Remedy actually has teeth, which are hidden in her beak. She can replicate a cat's snarl by parting her beak just a little to show off those teeth, all of which are pointed.

- Her hind claws retract and the anatomy is entirely feline.

- Her tail is two-fold, with an avian's tail feathers framing the base of a feline's tail, tipped in more, softer, red plumage. Both are needed for her to fly correctly.

- Her wings are shaped like that of a songbird, though she tends to fly more like a hawk might, with powerful, parted strokes rather than rapid wingbeats. She's an incredibly skilled flyer.

Personality

Polite and well spoken, she is a friendly face, despite her heritage. A good girl. An unquestioningly loyal friend...

...right?

She wears a mask, and it's a good one. Facade as natural as the red in her plumage- a helpful, happy hybrid, with all the courage and determination to adapt, to remain strong-willed despite the hardships she's endured. Yes, she's the picture of good will, the poster child for hope in hapless times.

Right.

Except she's lost hope. She's given up. Not on herself. No, goodness, she's too important. She has goals. She is still motivated- but her motivations have changed. She has become tainted. Selfish. No longer stubborn, she is instead patient. Though still self-assured, she has become a talented actress- perhaps because she's come to believe her own lies.

The face she wears, her self-intended motivations askew, hide a brooding force behind the scenes. A secret. A temper.

A ticking timebomb.

But she is tethered. Cure, her twin, serves even now as her voice of reason, a leash to reel her in on when that temper rises. Her devotion to her twin borderlines on unhealthy- but given their history, it's likely no surprise that, even above herself, Remedy holds Cure most prized and dear of all.

Since 2017; Remedy's memory decays over time. If she loses contact with someone, she'll come to misplace her memories of them as well. This tends to manifest as an inability to put a face to a name or to relate that name with the individual; or even the nature of that individual's relationship with her, if she recalls there ever was one.

She's capable of remembering given enough of a reminder and doesn't seem to notice this flaw at all in herself. She'll become anxious or irritable if accused of forgetting something or someone, as she honestly won't make the connection that she's forgetting. This effects her Long Term Memory primarily, but can sometimes bleed over into her Short Term Memory, causing her to forget tasks or goals more frequently than most might.

History

Born in Orion alongside sister Cure, to Bevy and Carcino.

Cure was kidnapped and war raged. Family moved to Canis and joined the Bonebound for safety.

An election is held in Pisces to determine Maji Walezi's new leader. Leon wins the election. Bevy suddenly snaps and attacks Remedy. Close friend Kerberos defends her, but kills Bevy in the process. Cancer snaps, and rather than stay as invited in Pisces, the family returns to grieve in Canis.

Cancer succumbs to his grief and passes. The family breaks up. Remedy disappears into uncharted reaches of the caves for many cycles.

Remedy returns to Canis cave to see what has become of the rest of her family in her absence.

Upon her return, she is greeted by Eythan and Amaria first, and she stays long enough to celebrate a short reunion before she leaves again to find the absent Cure.

She's reunited with her twin Cure in Orion and the two become nearly inseparable after that...
