As a young foal, Sair is a simple thing to those he might come across. She's a darkly coloured foal with a few white patches along her mane and rump, and there might be a bit of a brown sheen to them in places, but otherwise, it is as you'd expect; a small creature with legs that are too long and a neck that is too short. It is when their eyes open and they stand that they become even a fraction interesting, with grey-blue eyes the colour of thin ice frozen in spirals, and a moss agate hoof not yet covered by the feathers known to the breed. While 160 pounds might not be the smallest of the Gembounds to have been birthed, it is nothing compared to what they would become.

As Sair grows, it begins to change both in pattern and size with every shed of their coat. First, it is his portions that are reshaped, filling her out until her neck is finally able to comfortably reach the ground to forage. Then it is their coat that shifts, changing with every shed to become less like a shadow and more like a ghost as their white patches spread and their feathers grew to cover its life-giving gem. Her strength begins to show then, muscles straining against skin as he reaches 10 hands, 13 hands, 16 hands, before finally landing at a comfortable nearly 18. Almost 6ft tall and weighing a little more than 2200 pounds, Sair becomes a driving force, capable of pulling and pushing objects that other breeds could only dream of.

As a fully grown Gembound, Sair is heavy-set, with a broad face and eyes that pierce. Their step is heavy and deliberate, as if testing every step for solid ground. They keep their head high, and it is rare to catch their wandering eyes as they survey the environment for... something. Always something. She is clean at least, despite his tendency to wander the lands through all kinds of weather. It is a wonder they didn't develop wrinkles at 2 cycles old, considering how often their brow is furrowed as they squint.

Sair has mutated to have hind legs like that of a bird of prey. Hair turns into thin feathers towards their rear, save for their still very horse-like tail, and their back hooves have been morphed into sharp talons able to grasp and hold objects. Their patterning is still the same, but the shire 'feathering' is lost, replaced by actual, shorter, feathers.

Sair is a curious thing. Well, not curious. To say curious would be a dark mark against all they stood for. Sair is a researcher. A wanderer. A collector of knowledge. There is nothing short of avoiding it's death that Sair will not do to learn more, do more, find more. And even so, Sair would only avoid their death for the sake of keeping the knowledge they had already collected, for dying without passing it on would be such a shame. Such trivial things as privacy, morals and murder are nothing when it comes to understanding the world. After all, when the world itself calls for you, who is Sair to deny it's purpose?

Sair is unpredictable if nothing else, prone to wandering and whims. They are not mean, cruel or merciless, though some who will meet them might disagree. Sair simply does things for Sair's sake, the sake of knowledge. While this means Sair can be patient, listening to anyone's ramblings should they be interesting enough, it also means Sair sees no shame in walking away should he find something more pressing to make note of. Sair does things as they see fit, and they do not judge others for doing the same. After all, she wishes to know why one thinks/looks/acts/feels the way they do, and they have no right as a gatherer of such information to judge how the world shaped something. What kind of researcher would Sair be, if their annoyance or anger or disgust got in the way of accurately describing something?

Through and through a wanderer, it is best not to take it personally as Sair enters and leaves without announcement. It is not uncommon to find them entering their chrysalis to think, or wandering through the caves without rest, steadily walking forward, always on to the next thing of note.
