Appearance

When Scorch hatches, the most striking thing about him will be his huge, bright yellow eyes and dark "eyebrows". Otherwise, he will be little more than a chubby ball of light, tan-grey fluff with some dark mottled feathers. His eyebrows are set in a v shape. As he matures, he will grow tall ear tufts on top of his head. His feathers will become darker and more mottled, and his fluff will be gradually replaced by adult feathers. His eyebrows will somehow become even more defined, always in that distinctive v shape. His eyes will change from bright yellow to pumpkin-orange as he ages, and will continue to look huge. Scorch will grow to be quite large, as Eurasian Eagle Owls are one of the largest owl species. His wingspan will reach to nearly six feet, and he will weigh just over six and a half pounds. His talons are large and powerful, which makes him quite dangerous in a fight, but they are also useful for hunting prey. His eyebrows make him appear as if he is always frowning, whether it be in concentration or angry glaring, but that is not always the case. His stone, a fire opal, is on the outside of his body, but it is normally not visible as it is beneath all his chest feathers.
