Appearance

Scout is a small, lithe antelope with two curved antlers on top of their head, standing at 18 inches at the shoulder, and 47 inches long. Their eyes are dark and lined with long, thick lashes, and their face is colored white with dark markings around their eyes. Their belly is also white, as are the insides of their legs and tail, but their back and neck are a light tawny brown, with darker brown stripes lining the sides of their body. Their tail is short and their hooves are cloven with two primary hooves and two smaller ones located on their heels. Their ears are slightly longer than the average deer, used to detect predators while they graze on grasses and other greens. Their teeth are blunt and their tongue is soft and used mainly for grooming herself and others, and their fur is short, made for the scorching desert heat. They are incapable of growing a winter coat, and must remain within warm climates to stay comfortable.

Their legs are thin, but their shoulders and hindquarters are thick with muscle, meaning that they can leap a considerable distance and run incredibly fast, which is their main defense against predators and other hostile Gembound. They much prefer peace and quiet over fighting and gatherings.

Personality

Scout would much rather enjoy a quiet day alone with any critters they can befriend than with another Gembound. They’re weird and people generally tend to stay away from them. Especially seeing how they’re absolutely obsessed with spiders and bugs especially, and can often be found trying to coax a critter in hitching a ride on their antlers. They’re kind, as off-putting their personality may be, but not so kind as to go out of their way to help just anyone in need. If they can help, they might, and if they can’t? Well… good luck, then. They have better things to do.

But aside from that? They’re rather boring. Eating grass, napping, drinking… it’s as if they were a regular, non-intelligent animal in their mannerisms. And how crude they are, too, even for someone literally living in a cave. Scratching away mites with their hind feet, jumping into the lake rather than taking the time to groom themselves properly and calling it a day and rolling in mud! Who knew what was in there? Definitely not the standard of hygiene and manners, that was for sure. Half the time they forget to even say hello to strangers (or friends, the few she may have).

Absolute friggin' potty mouth. Holy damn.
