Appearance

Tiny kitten is tiny. Even for a bobcat, Selena is rather small and stout. It doesn’t help that she is typically seen crouched down into as small of a ball as possible. Her large brown tufted ears and large paws almost seem comical for her petite frame. Bright burnt-orange fur almost always sticks out on end due to both her near constant static electricity coursing over her as well as a vain attempt to increase her overall size. Her body is covered with brown ovals, stripes, and even spots of various shapes and sizes going from her forehead, along her checks, and decorating her sides and legs. A creamy colored maw and underside accents the overall coloration. Tucked behind her is a brown tipped bobtail. Long side whiskers and a small dark mauve nose complete the look. Her most stunning feature, however, is her wide pale green eyes. A prehnite gemstone in the shape of a long, skinny star rests at the base of her neck. One limb of the star towards her head, two pointing towards her shoulders, and the last two towards her back legs. Overall the gemstone is about the same size as one of her paws.

Personality

In Selena’s mind, the world is a scary place riddled with monsters of all sorts. The caverns soft glow is but a small comfort as it reminds her of the safety of her chrysalis. All of the creatures, though, astound her. Especially the fact that so many are so much larger than her with large teeth. As much as possible, Selena tries to avoid those kinds of beasts. She prefers to slink down into a curled up ball but is quick to yell or even swipe a paw in an exaggerated attempt to defend herself from most anything. Wide eyes are frequently darting around in hopes of catching anything that might try to sneak up on her. Unfortunately she is still quite easily startled which typically results in a leap, hissing, and possible swipe of the paw with or without claws out. It is also not uncommon to hear her yowl out in a rather frightening manner if startled enough. Overall, Selena is a very timid feline which alternates between trying to hide as best as possible and accidentally making herself very well known. When alone or with those she feels comfortable with, she enjoys simply lounging along a cool rock in the peace and quiet of the caverns. Like most, though, the best way to befriend her is with food. A growling stomach is typically more upsetting to her than whatever dangers may await.

History

Cycle 1
She has tentatively left her chrysalis in Tunnel N to explore the word in search of food. Shortly after emerging, she met Thomas, an elk, and immediately decided to nope interactions with most creatures.

Cycle 3
Her solitude was interrupted by meeting a strange person known only as "The Painter" who had created mysterious paintings along the cave walls. This being passed along the ability to create familiars, which soon became Selena's main companion in life.

Cycle 4-13
Life was largely spent in solitude. She created a home for herself in Cetus and only interacted with the familiar she would occasionally create.

Cycle 14
At cycle 14 of age, Selena begins to realize that maybe she can't simply survive alone. She soon meets a lemur named Petals; though the interaction went less than fruitful, causing her to question her decision.

Cycle 15 While musing alone, a bat appears by the name of Zeno. She finds that he is likewise an outsider to much of the Origin world. The two spend a long time in philosophical discussion about their place in the world, the purpose of gembounds, and other topics. Slowly the seeds of friendship is sewn. However, she is also reminded of another that was almost a friend and a beautiful painting that was in Orion. She wonders if it's still there ....

Cycle 16-17 While wondering, she meets a lion named Faelan. Still nervous around newcomers, she hesitantly greets him and finds him pleasant enough. The two of them discover strange singing crystals. After much work, they were able to free the stones. Afterwards, they are brought to a strange creature known as Jupiter who in return for the stones teaches them an ability to make their own gemstones sing.

Cycle 18 Her time is largely spent reflecting on the interactions she has had recently; meeting new gembounds, discussing what her purpose may be, and if the painting in Orion is still there.

* Has created a home in the Crags of Cetus. One of the stones had fallen over at an angle. Below it she was able to carve out a den. The bottom was decorated with moss to help prevent some of the moisture and improve the look. It's fairly small, though, and she is more likely to be seen lounging on the stone than under it.

Bio: Hi all! I'm Norvilion's wife, he's the one who got me onto this site.

I'm currently a night shift nurse for a mental institute. When not working, I enjoy reading, drawing, and working on various craft projects. I'm currently learning to sew and procrastinating on making art dolls, lol.
