Appearance

Serek is a relatively average creature, standing at just one meter at the shoulder on four spindly legs. He’s an odd amalgamation of hyena and hartebeest, a meeting of herbivore and carnivore. It shows in his silhouette, with the face and legs of his ungulate part, yet the sloping back and flag tail of a hyena. Orange-red hair coats his skin. It’s spotty and spotted, long and wirey with a mane of hair down his head and neck. This extremities fade to black as they progress.

From the front, his stance is fairly slim, with canine feet ending his forelegs with jet black hooves ending his hind. Long, large ears designed for heat regulation sit atop his head, along-side two curling horns the same color as his hooves. His face is mostly hartebeest in nature, with canine teeth and fangs protruding from his lips and a black nose pad at the tip of his muzzle. Otherwise, he doesn’t look too much out of place. Reasonably, he could be an average creature.

That is, if it weren’t for the collar of green around his neck. The spikey ring is the form his gem takes, curling around the skin and restricting muscles to a certain extent.

He moves in a somewhat loping manner, reminiscent of his hyena heritage, though is able to propel himself forward for a good distance with his hind legs. As a mix of persistence scavenger and herbivore, he’s a mix of the two in terms of diet. He does seem to prefer greenery.

His voice is rough and guttural, though mid-toned and androgynous in nature.

A brief stint of mis-used magic has caused laceration scars to run up his left arm and shoulder, revealing thick pink slits of skin in his fur.

Personality

Serek is a... simple creature. He's lax and- admittedly- somewhat lazy as he meanders about the gembounds he cares for, split between Canis and the Bonebound, and Cetus with the Children of Rot. Both hold his interest, and he drifts between the two of them.

Underneath an admittedly dismissive attitude lies one much more abrasive, bitter in taste and rough to touch. Serek harbors envy very easily. It bubbles forwards and selfishly drives his actions, drives a sharp ego into his psyche that drives him to believe that he should be involved. He's misguided in his confidence of what's right. He's stubborn enough to back it up too, and would much more likely ignore well-intentioned criticisms if he just doesn't like the sound of them.

He does enjoy attention, though. While he doesn't force himself into groups to find it from others, he has a small tendency to latch on to whatever's the most important and drag everything towards him. It's unpleasant to talk to him in a crowd for too long due to this- he'd just be more likely to talk about how he relates to everything rather than any presented situation at hand.
