Appearance

Seven

Being small, and flighty, and excitable means getting a good look at Seven takes work, the blur of black-white-blue rarely still for more than a few moments. Upon close inspection - and with the chittering of rapid-fire speech as accompaniment - one would find a fairly well-kept, handsome corvid. Measuring perhaps a foot and a half in length - tail included - Seven is indeed one of Origin cave’s more diminutive residents - large for one of her particular species, though not unusually so. When outstretched, her wings surpass her body in length by a scant few inches at most. Seven’s feathers are kept neat and tidy by dutiful preening, the untarnished, snowy down of her underbelly giving way to a sharp black hood. Her secondaries shimmer and shine an iridescent blue - indeed, when the lights in the cavern are just right, they seem to reflect the entire gamut of visible color. As her head turns this way and that, the light catches not just upon the gembound’s inquisitive gaze, but a circular piece of lapis lazuli set just behind the corner of her left eye - its size as diminutive as her own, but its color and shine eye-catching nonetheless. The stone itself does not seem to cause her much discomfort.

Personality

If one were to boil down Seven’s personality to a single world, it is this: Rambunctious. As a fledgling, endearing; as an adult, perhaps slightly less so. Seven is a curious creature, rarely unfriendly and shy even less so, but often at the detriment of social niceties. Kind she is, but thoughtful she is not, at least not initially - the gembound tends thinks of herself before others, especially in her fledgling days, though not out of any inherent malice. Her inborn curiosity is simply too powerful for the young creature to ignore for long. It will temper as she ages, though never diminish - she remains a young at heart creature even as she grows, that wonder for newness and intrigue never fading. Perhaps given time and a little gentle guidance, Seven could blossom into slightly less of a nuisance, though her chatty nature will be toughest of all to break. To those called ‘friend’ by the magpie, Seven is a stalwart companion - whether said gembound enjoys the sort of company she brings for any length of time is of little importance to her, and she is loathe to spend extended periods of time alone once she’s grown accustomed to the ways of Origin cave. To those called ‘enemy’ - well, she certainly hopes she’ll never encounter someone so awful as to drive her away.
