Appearance

As a hatchling, Sorda is covered in fluffy white down feathers, giving them an almost scraggly appearance. Their beak is yellow with a sharp grey tip, contrasting sharply against the surrounding white feathers. They are void of markings except for the dark edges of their wings, and the increasing amount of dark speckles as their adult flight feathers grow in. These dark flecks will start around their wings and slowly spread to their chest, then tail and head.
As an adult, Sorda looks MUCH different. Their back is a dark brown, and their belly and the underside of their wings is a paler, warmer color. They are 26 inches beak to tail, with a 62 inch wingspan. Their feathers are very close together, the ones near the face almost looking like scales. There is some light dappling across their feathers, the most apparent on their lighter side and the back of their wings.
Sorda's gemstone is on the middle talon of the right foot. This toe is unable to bend, which can make them walk a bit odd, especially on rough terrain. It also can make it hard to pick things up, but Sorda always favors her left foot when doing most tasks, even walking.

Personality

Sorda is rebellious by nature. They absolutely refuse to do what they’re told, even if it’s for the greater good. They tend to be alone a lot because of this, but they are actually extremely social. They love hanging out with others, she just hates being told what to do. Despite their refusal to do what others tell them to, they also refuse to tell other gembound what to do. They’re a free spirit, and want others to be the same. Thus, they stay away from most organized groups, but they are certainly curious about these groups, and may watch from afar.
Sorda is extremely, dangerously curious. They spend the majority of their time exploring the caves or trying to learn from gembound that have inhabited the cave far longer than they have. Their ability to fly helps a lot in this endeavour, and they spend far more time flying than walking, partially due to the placement of their gemstone. They are specifically intrigued by the various fungi of the caves, as they have fungi magic, and often use greysense and similar spells to help them explore the caves.
Since Sorda is constantly on the move, they’ve met many other creatures. They are almost always friendly, unless the other creature is obviously aggressive. She likes to help others when she can, especially if it involves an ‘adventure’ or ‘quest.’
