Appearance

Wild Splotch looks like many other African Wild Dogs; her pelt is primarily a tan-brown color, with patches of black, gray, and white. The majority of the patches are black, including a dash down between her ears, along along her muzzle. Her nose is mostly black, with a small brown patch on the tip, as though she'd stuck her nose in dirt. Her eyes are a pretty green color, sticking out harshly against the rest of her pelt. Her ears are large like any other Wild Dog's, rounded with a notch in the side of the left one that she was born with. Her gem is an emerald, embedded in the hollow of her stomach, where her ribs separate. It protrudes just enough to be seen from her side She has thin legs that don't look as though they could support her, and most of her (rather small) height is from that. She stands only a few inches above two feet at her shoulder, and tends to slink, with her head low between her shoulder blades, more along the lines of a stalking wolf or a feline, than a canine. She is rather delicately built, with a fine, thin face, and bones that stick out slightly through her pelt. She has a large patch of white on her chest, which stands out against her speckled pelt.

Personality

Wild Splotch is fairly average. She is neither too kind, nor too mean. If someone is in trouble, she will step in, but won't go out of her way or risk her hide. She is more peaceful than anything, and prefers to try and ease tensions instead of fight, although she's not afraid to fight if she must. Since she is not terribly large, or strong, and her long legs make her rather fast, she has a in and out style of attack, charging in, making contact with her teeth or fangs, and then dancing away, out of range of her opponent's claws and fangs. Splotch is fairly motherly. She tends to mother-hen other Gembounds, attempting to take care of them. While she isn't one for anger or meanness, the one sure-fire way to make her angry is to threaten those she cares for. That is the only time she won't shy away during a fight, and will plunge all in. She often wanders the tunnels, watching crysalises for hatchlings, and guiding them to the best of her ability if she can. She loves plant life, and tends to cast her magic often, either to help a plant grow or grow a new one.
