Appearance

As a pup, Styx will be nothing noteworthy.

He is all round shapes, no points or angles. His head is small, compared to his body size. His gemstone, barely as big as a man's thumbnail, sits between his eye markings.

His teeth will be needle sharp. He has a rather large, black nose, and beedy eyes. There are two, tiny, caramal brown dots above his eyes, seemingly eyebrows. His ears are silky, and flop over.

For the most part, his fur is a grungy black in color. It seems perpetually messy, with few markings. These markings are on the front of his chest, like a bow tie, and on his legs, like uneven socks. His tail will be long and whip-like.

As an adult, Styx will be unrecognizable. A monster of a Dog, he strains the expectations of his breed. At the highest point of his shoulder, he measures a massive twenty eight inches. The way he stands, tall and regal, only accentuates this, making him appear even taller.

His gemstone still sits between his eyes, between the two brown dots. He is no longer round, instead made up almost entirely of sharp bones and strong angles. Muscles bulge beneath his shining black fur, and his legs are incredibly long. His markings stand out against the rest of him, a rich brown on his legs, face, and chest. No longer are his eyes beady, but now a shade of brown so dark that they could be mistaken for black. His teeth, no longer needle sharp, are still sharp enough to rend meat from bone with little effort.

An encounter with a tiger gone wrong has resulted in his tail being cropped short, now little more than a ragged nub. His ears, too, are pointed, the sides ragged where the tiger's teeth tore it away.

Mutation: Vulture Wings - long-feathered black wings, large enough to carry the Gembound.

Personality

Styx is lean and mean.

Well, not really. He's not mean, per say. At least, so long as you stay on his good side. If you do manage to get on his bad side, though, he won't be just mean - he will be out to ruin you. Whether this is whispering lies, or carefully worded truths, into someone's ear, or sabotaging a hunt, nothing is too petty, or too severe, for him to pull off.

However, he believes in good until proven otherwise. He refuses to judge Gembounds upon first meeting them, instead taking their actions into account to pass his judgement.

Those who pass this judgement will find themselves with a fierce defender, and an even more dierce protector. He will step in to protect you against a physical, or even verbal, assault without care, even if he is outnumbered or his enemy is far out of his league.

To Styx, your word is law. If you say you are going to do something, or even imply it, you must do it. One's word is binding, and he will never let you break a promise. To him, breaking ones' oath makes you lower than dirt.

Styx believes in bettering others. He will figure out your weaknesses, and work to teach you how to get over them. Whether its a stutter, or not being fast in a battle, nothing is too small, or too big, for him to fix.
