Appearance

A beast of a dragon that takes after more his stone-giver then his life-giver, with a fairly streamlined appearance. While strong and muscular, he seems to be built more for speed then brute strength, although he isn't exactly weak in the fighting department. He's covered with scales as black as night, smooth and cool to the touch, sporting larger, thicker ones on his belly and plates along his back. Ridges line his spine starting from his skull and ending at the tip of his long, whipping tail, sticking out for every plate that runs down his spine. Two massive wings allow for true flight, the same midnight-black color as the rest of his body, made of a thick, leathery membrane that doesn't tear easily. Both wings are supported by arm-like limbs tipped with three dexterous claws that are used for walking when grounded. His back legs are sturdy and muscular and have long, powerful claws on each toe.

His head is built like a typical dragon's - fairly serpentine but with harsher, more triangular lines. Two horns curl from either side of his face, just beyond ice-white eyes. A plate rests on his nose, just beneath a horn jutting above his nostrils. He has an overbite and many of his massive teeth stick out from under his lip. On the top of his head, between his eyes, is his gemstone - a scattering a tiny obsidian horns. The gem is attatched to his skull, but it'll never grow big enough to cause damage - if anything, it will grow outwards, the size of the horns increasing in size and number slightly as he grows.

Personality

REWRITING!

This creature comes off as one might expect a traditional dragon to act - arrogant, territorial, bestial, and rather simple. He's mildly aggressive, starting fights perhaps when its not necessary, but he doesn't destroy for the sake of destruction. He has something to prove and he will do so with any means necessary. Usually force, since that, it seems, is where he most excels. Despite this, however, Svartis isn't a very loud, in-your-face kind of creature. His anger and abrasiveness are low-key, cool as ice. Dark, brooding, and gruff. He'll never lose his temper to rage or through obnoxious tantrums. His strength is like a spear of ice - straightforward, to the point, and freezing cold.

Having in depth conversations with this beast is almost impossible. He doesn't have the patience for sitting down and chatting - he'd rather be out doing and learning and exploring and fighting, collecting riches and proving his strength to anyone in a 10 mile radius. It's built into his very core to be active and constantly on the move, lending an almost hyperactivity to his every moment. This also has a severe impact on his attention span. At most, you might be able to keep his attention for a couple of hours. At worst, he might forget about you a second after meeting, if he deems the conversation boring enough.

Underneath this fast-moving, brutish personality, Svartis suffers from what's similar to an inferiority complex. His biggest fear is that he is less then everyone else around him, that he's somehow worse then them. It's a stress that he carries with him almost constantly. His abrasiveness and cool brutality are almost a front, a way to keep himself convinced that he's above everyone else. He has to convince himself of that, or else he'll fall deeper and deeper into despair and self-loathing. He stands on a mighty tower, looking down at all the rest. He has to convince himself of that or else it's all over.

When it comes to relationships, well, it's not an easy task to gain his trust. He knows he's an asshole, that he'll most likely be pretty difficult to like. He also knows that he is a very very large dragon with long fangs and a, frankly, unfriendly face. Any trust or friendliness others show to him is hard for him to accept as nothing more then awe or fear of him. Once he gets past this (if he ever does), then, perhaps, a true relationship could form.
