As far as hybrids go, this one is fairly small-- she measures in just a little smaller than her stone-giver's species; weighing in roughly under sixteen ounces. She will remain a little underweight for most of her life, and undersized.

She doesn't carry herself with any of the confidence seen in either species, often electing to hide away in silence. Although she's physically quite weak, she makes up for it by being a strong flier and a strong magic-user.

Most of the hybrid's plumage is almost a deep, inky-black, but iridescent with shining blues and greens and pinks if caught in the correct lighting. The half-rings of cobalt blue lining her primaries similarly catch hues of different blues in the light, though they only appear on her back.

Under her belly and her wings, the feathers are mostly midnight blue and white-- the creamy off-white crests the secondaries and wing lining and leads down to circle under her ornate tail-feathers as well. Her gemstone, a glittering blue moonstone, sits circled with soft, white down feathers on the square of her chest.

Her eyes are dark and storm-like, banded with a white cheek and brow ridge. Protruding out of her brow are two small, reptile-like horns, and leading down her goose-like neck are three more spines, the last of which settling between her wings.

She is, unsurprisingly, soft-spoken, and has been known to stutter when she gets particularly nervous or anxious, at times getting bad enough that the hybrid struggles to even communicate properly.

This hybrid comes from-- let's say --an interesting family. It's anyone's guess as to what she'd be like if things had gone according to their plan. Perhaps she'd have been as cruel and bloodthirsty, or perhaps she would have been clever enough to realise what was happening.

It might be difficult to imagine this of her, however, because of how she turned out.

Quiet and paranoid, damn near afraid of everything that comes near. Particularly, she is easily startled by abrupt movements and sounds, moreso in her first cycle than anytime else. She doesn't like to be left alone or otherwise unattended by another gembound for what are, likely, very clear reasons.

Unlike the others in her family, she tries her best to be gentle. Afraid to turn out like her mother. Afraid to turn out like any of them. But she shows a kind heart-- likely kinder than any of them could have ever been. The hybrid simply couldn't hurt anything, not even a lesser gembound, even if they wanted to.

She's patient. Eternally patient, perhaps to a fault. She could wait around for hours at a time, potentially days. When she says 'take your time,' she truly means it.

As she grows a little older, childlike curiosity finally begins to show itself. She enjoys finding herself comforts-- small, shiny little things --and stashing them away for her own. She enjoys exploring and, on occasion, flying from ledge to ledge on the cave walls.

How else she might turn out, however, is totally up in the air. She's only young.

She didn't know anyone in her family. She barely remembers her mother's face. She only knows, quite simply, that they were bad people. Murderers. And she'd seen the state of that tunnel.

All the bones. And the gemstones. And the blood, and the stink, and the flesh, and the distant cries of people she barely knew in the distance. The sound of bones cracking and breaking. The screams.

Truthfully, she tries not to think about it all that much.
