Appearance

Tahi-shei is all long, gangly legs and tawny-spotted fur, white splashes like raindrops on his body. He's a little over a foot tall at the shoulder right now. His massive, triangular ears dwarf his face, giving him the appearance of an awkward creature who has great difficulty navigating the caves. His warm, brown eyes sparkle with childlike curiosity that can lead to him getting his long nose poked into trouble. In areas rife with plantlife, he can usually hide by standing still because of his spots -- so long as whatever he's hiding from can't see the bright color of his fur.

Atop his head, one might find ever-so-slight bumps where his antlers will grow as he ages. Eventually, he will have a proud rack of antlers with which he can defend himself, and along with them will come longer, thicker fur and a muddy-brown coat. His spotted fawn-coat will begin to fade, though in certain light one will still be able to see them. However, even as he begins to fill out and grows into his adult height of about 33 inches at the shoulder, he'll never quite overcome it. While he will eventually grow lean, strong muscles to help him maintain grace and balance, he will always look a bit awkward and a lot out of place in the dimness of the caves.

Personality

First and foremost, Tahi believes in fate. He believes that magic touched stone in a way that was predetermined by the universe in order to create him, and he is convinced that there is some otherworldly purpose or destiny laid out for him that he simply has to discover. Everything happens for a reason, after all, and he has not yet reached the conclusion that he ought to sometimes take destiny into his own hands. Er, hooves.

However, due to his general newness in the world, Tahi is... shy. He is skittish around strangers and new scenarios, which means that at the moment, he is skittish of just about everything except the golems and his own chrysalis. He is naive enough to trust anyone who proves they don't pose an immediate threat to him, because he has not yet been burned, and has a certain subdued curiosity that is warring with his hesitance. Tahi-shei is motivated by a powerful desire to see everything he can and learn what it is, mostly so he doesn't have to be afraid anymore.

Perhaps due to his own fear, Tahi-shei is kind to others. He goes out of his way to help others in need, even if they don't seem sentient, and even if helping them could harm him. His innocence could lead him to be fooled by traps exploiting the empathy and naivety of creatures like him, and for this reason Tahi-shei is easily manipulated by anyone who pretends to be his friend.

Tahi is also somewhat indecisive, as seen with his name (which is actually a combination of his three favorite names from his list), and especially in regards to where he should eat, sleep, and with whom he should be friends. He might even seem flighty or cowardly, and will oftentimes pass up good options in the hope of finding a great one.

History

Tahi's first couple of cycles were... uneventful, really. He hatched in Orion, met Pride and some of the other members of the Seven, had an encounter with a particularly aggressive kitten called Madhukar, and almost got eaten by Overseer Alpha.

But in his third cycle, he failed spectacularly in the Olympics. Driven by his own frustration and a jealousy of Madhukar's raw potential, Tahi-shei sought out the Collector and made a deal...
