Appearance

I steal a few breaths
from the world for a minute
and then I'll be nothing forever

Coated with blue-silvers and a thick pelt, Tahlia is descended from lammergeier and leopard, creating a form of fluffy wyvern between the two of them. She’d mostly looks like a spotted lammergeier from a distance if it weren’t for the hind legs of a cat and the long, balancing tail of a leopard behind her. Not to mention her pelt- silver is dappled with ringed spots, with a lighter belly and dark dorsal saddle.

Her face sports the signature Vita beard, over a vulture beak and in front of round, mint-green bird eyes. Her face would be wholly like her life-giver if it weren’t for the small leopard ears behind it, often pulled back out of habit. Feathers arch down from her head and down her neck, creating a form of mane that trails down her back and creates a sort of bird tail over her true one.

While her wings are large and sturdy, weight orients her more towards gliding, climbing up with strong digits at the end of her wings and thick claws in her paws before launching off of whatever surface. Her legs are pretty powerful for this- strong enough to support her weight, which they often do when she’s walking about. Running, however, often has her perching forward and using her wings to launch in a sort of hopping run.

Her gem- green jadeite- matches her eyes and compliments her pelt, nestled near the base of her long throat.

and all of my memories
and all of the things I have seen
will be gone
with my eyes with my body with me

Personality

and the heart is hard to translate
it has a language of its own
it talks in tongues and quiet sighs

Tahlia is a very tired being. Almost any glimpse of her will have her napping in some form, sprawled out wherever she fell like some oversized cat. Maybe this is from being within a chrysalis for more than thirty cycles, or her subsequent hibernation for twenty, but in either case it just seems normal for her. She doesn’t oversleep- she just enjoys it, enjoys the warmth of the lightbulbs and open spaces, feeling her skin soak in the rays as she catnaps.

Otherwise, she’s a being who enjoys nesting in place, often picking up items that fancy her and tucking them away somewhere for later. If she’s in one place for more than a day, it’s rare for the sleeping patch to not have some form of foliage or comfortable nest in it.

She doesn’t mind being bothered. In fact, she’s rather excitable in general, interested in what other people are doing once she’s had a good nap. Even when she is tired, she’ll push through if it means she earns a good rest, content to be around people she likes. Sleeping near each other is the highest form of compliment to her.

Swimming- and any water activity- is a favorite pastime of her’s. She’ll be at her happiest plodding in water or making her way through it, and especially more with interacting with people from it. The whole ordeal fascinates her. She could stare at water ripples all day, contented, and she loves the sound of faintly rushing water.

Her ideal place to be? Pisces’s waterfalls, in a nice nest she’d make of her own accord.

and I would give all this and heaven too
I would give it all if only for a moment
that I could just understand
the meaning of the word you see
