Appearance
Composed of size and brute strength to overpower and intimidate. Solid muscle and snapping jaws are clad in armor-thick scales, draped in shades of warning-bright. Thick, short limbs and badger claws are constructed for digging out the lazy or inflicting lessons upon the rebellious. Small eyes provide basic sight, but towering ears allow its soft and eerie clicks to guide it in the dark. Heat vents open, flash, and close along its flanks. A long, sharp shard of black-blessed Oilstone juts from the midpoint of its tail, yet its element does not seethe with the heat of Chaos. A multitude of scars mark it as industrious in its duties.
Personality
Or reinvent itself. But once upon a time, she was Tectus, Overseer of Orion, well known for being one of the less...forceful of origin's managers. A general laid-back disposition and friendly tempermant made for a relatively well-liked Overseer, at least among higher up valkhounds and sentries that were in her charge. After all, she understood that happy workers could be trusted more then angry or unhappy ones. Nor did she particularly care to punish relaxation, as long as it didn't interfere with their duties. She was also as well known for her brutality, how any lines crossed, any sight of rebellion, any laziness past a well-defined point was met with swift, powerful, and frightening retribution. Skulls smashed beneath massive, powerful limbs, spines crunched and twisted within her massive jaws, long, dexterous claws rending flesh through the opening cracks of the rebels hiding holes. And always she seemed unbothered, as laid back as when she was chatting with the sentries about their daily guard as when she was challenging any further slacking off while blood poured from the body crushed beneath her claws, the last twitches of life finally leaving its body. But time has taken its toll. Long sleep throughout hundreds of years have withered her memories. It will take time to restructure herself back to her former glory. If not, to recreate herself in this new era. History
The shadows did not hide them. She knew were they were, always, and she never let them escape. They could run, but they could never hide. She would chase and chase and never stop until their bleeding feet surrendered. Only then would swift, brutal death save them. And always that smile, it seemed to mock them. Like their plight and their pain was nothing to her. The valkhounds sang her praise. "She doesn't overwork, she isn't needlessly cruel. She'll talk and she'll laugh, she'll listen to your worries and encourage you to do better! Everyone wishes they had Tectus as their Overseer!" But even a slaver that has dropped the whip is a slaver still. |
