If the creatures of the cave where aware of such things, they might compare the gembound's shifting indigoes to an ocean reflecting the night sky. The animal's colouring remains consistent throughout, a rich abyssal colouring that brightens where the pelt thins, motes of Orion's Scale bioluminescence speckled at random across her silhouette.

Its actual structure is harder to recognise, but vaguely feline. He primarily takes after her Smilodon populator ancestry, sporting a square-shaped face equipped with massive upper canines, standing at roughly 3 ft at the shoulder. Two pale eyes stare grimly from her sockets, her expression kept neutral but stern.

Like its life-giver, feathers and thorns coat the majority of its body, making her fluffy appearance a cruel deception. These growths plume outwards most significantly around their mane and tail, the former covering a set of gills.

Her body is lithe but strong - her limbs end in bird-like feet and sharp talons. Bird wings stretch from her shoulders, covered in scale-like feathers. Further back is her tail, a large and efficient thing. The scale-feathers transition to fins to further aid in aquatic ventures - there may be truly no place the gembound cannot reach.

Her stone is a navy riebeckite, darker tones veined with baby blues like a stormy sea. It protrudes from her skin twice to create a pair of horns. The grow forwards with a gentle curve, pointing towards the ceiling.

As of this thread, Thalassa sports a smattering of small burn scars across her wings from an encounter with a lava golem. These are located on the topside and mostly on her left wing.

Thalassa is not one for play, even as a child. No, she's always working towards her ambitions - which I guess you could count as a hobby if you squinted. She is endlessly curious, but isn't the kind of person to ask for information. She prefers to find it for herself, whether it may lie atop the highest mountain or the deepest trench. They're very much what you'd call a kineasthetic learner, and don't derive much from spoken or written word. It holds its findings close to its chest, believing them to be emblematic of their achievements and determination. She doesn't need to share her knowledge to feel fulfilled, sometimes it feels better to simply know.

She is not naturally empathetic, especially to those unfamiliar. She's not outright hostile or overly aggresive, just forward. His tone often makes it clear enough that he's not here to make friends. If you slow her down, you get left behind.

It's also of note that she takes little time for emotional endeavours, filling her schedule with activities and exploration. She is always on the move, which could be interpreted as a kind of avoidance. She is unsure where to place herself in most casual social situations, and expression of intense emotion (eg. sadness, affection) make her uncomfortable. She's much better equipped to deal with facts rather than feelings.

It should be said that though Thalassa is active, this does not make her impatient. She fills her day with different things to attend to so that she never has to wait for something to occur or propogate. She is quite adept at organising her time, but not so much at managing her own health along with it - she is susceptible to overworking herself, and will only rest unless either someone pressures her to or until she literally cannot move and/or think clearly.

Wyrm notes for 2026:
- workaholic but we spent three paragraphs explaining that already
- poor socialisation, struggles to perform empathy (real)
- frustrated easily (realer)
- has learned that its really difficult to do it alone
- now interested in surrounding itself with like-minded people
- standards are still impossibly high, though
- we are both autistic.

A silver ring enchanted with dissipate, shrouding it and a small area around it in shadow.
