For the average Gembound of Origin Cave, Thothaga's anatomy seems bizarre and alien. She is an arachnid-- a spider, and a colossal one at that. However, her growth is very slow, but over a period of time, she will eventually reach a maximum height of 11ft and a leg span that reaches 20ft across. As a young gemling, she can easily be mistaken for a large cave spider, being only as big a small dog.

Thothaga's body is separated into two segments; a cephalothorax and an abdomen. Her abdomen is where all of her vital organs are despite doubling as a rump. She breaths through four, vent-like book lungs located underneath her abdomen. Thothaga traverses the cave on eight, long, spindly legs. Noticeably, the front and back pair are slightly longer than the middle pairs. Each leg is tipped with two pads and sheathable claws which she can use to climb almost any surface, even upside down. She keeps her pedipalps tucked against her thick chelicerae ("jaws") and uses them to groom her fangs or grasp certain items like hands. The most intimating aspect about her are her long, backwards curving, black fangs. Coupled with her strong "jaws" and a potent, paralyzing venom, make them dangerous weapons. If prey is not killed by being crushed or impaled by her large fangs, then the venom will subdue them.

Thothaga's exoskeleton is covered in a thin layer of fine, fur-like hairs, that are black in color with a bluish-purple iridescence and whitish dorsal markings. Despite being chitinous, her exoskeleton is not that hard. It acts like tough leather instead of rigid armor, making it somewhat flexible. However, during a molt her exoskeleton becomes soft as a peach offering her insides no protection at all until it dries out and hardens.

Somehow, she is somehow is able to talk, despite having no viable way of forming words. Her voice sounds feminine, yet raspy, with deeper subvocals that give her speech an otherworldly ambiance. Thothaga can also make strange chittering noises and rattling hisses.

Thothaga views the world through eight, black eyes which are fixed in place, forever unblinking and unlike her lesser kin, they glisten with sentience. Regardless of her many, many peepers, her eyesight is not that great. Thothaga is embarrassingly nearsighted, she sees not detail in the distance. Despite this shortcoming, her eyes are very sensitive to movement. Thankfully, Thothaga does not rely on her vision alone. She can sense vibrations, changes in atmosphere, and even the ebb and flow of magicka through sensitive hairs on her legs. This is heighten when she feels through spider silk.

Spinning silk is second nature to the spider witch and her spinnerets seem to provide an endless supply. Her intelligence as a greater gembound allows her capacity to craft many items and accessories from her own webbing. Often, she may don homemade satchels to carry supplies, or weave intricate drapes or talismans on her person. She also uses her silk to hunt in every way a spider can hunt with silk. From catching prey in webs, casting nets, and even making trap doors, next to her venom, Thothaga's silk is the most usual tool in her arsenal.

Thothaga's gem is a large cluster blue quartz with three prominent crystal points that protrude from the top of her abdomen. When her magick is at its strongest, it glows a brilliant blue, much like the Spire.

Polaris, the Spire, and the magicka which it emits are all very sacred to Thothaga. She recognizes that this is not only what gives her the power to cast spells, but is also the vital life force of everything in the Cave.

Thothaga is a witch, and magick is her craft. Weaving a bridge with her spells, she is a medium between this world and beyond.

Thothaga, the Spellweaver, is an enigmatic being whose motives and morality are cryptic in nature. This could be because she hardly emotes. With an exoskeleton over her face, there appears to be no emotion, but that is far from the truth. She can be terrifying and monstrous in appearance, but despite her size, Thothaga is a subtle creature. One only has to look deeper.

Other than the Spire, Thothaga values power and survival above everything else. However she is not an ambitious tyrant, nor is she malevolent at heart. She simply learns for the sake of learning, to better herself, and yearns to preserve knowledge that future generations might forget. She is a collector of things, and from that she can craft many usual items, and sometimes, oddities. However, Thothaga is capricious in nature. She always looks after her own self interests. She simple does not do things out of the kindness of her own heart. There is always a price to pay when it comes to enlisting her help. Usually its in the form of food or an interesting trinket, but sometimes debts must be paid in blood. Thothaga is unsettling and she knows it. Often she will use this to her advantage, whether it be coercing or having a bit of mischievous fun. With a sharp "tongue" and dry wit, it can be hard to tell if she is joking or if she really does want to eat you. Either way, Thothaga is amused by the way some gembounds squirm uncomfortably in her presence. Infamous for her blunt words, she is unafraid to speak the truth, even if it is a hideous thing to bring into the light. At times she may feel compelled to manipulate others should it benefit her goals, but never will she tell a deliberate lie.

There are three phases of behavior Thothaga will go through. It is unknown how they are triggered, but it has nothing to do with how many cycles she is. Interestingly, it may have something to do with magicka...

THE MAIDEN From the moment she is born, this phase is the first to grace Thothaga's behavior. Playful, vibrant, and quite naïve, Thothaga encompasses a youthful spirit. She is filled with an unquenchable desire to explore her world, both physical and beyond. However, it is in this phase which she is most selfish. Following the "law of the jungle", she is only interested in her self preservation and gathering more magickal power and knowledge. With the heart of a nomad, Thothaga will wander, learning all she can, regardless of the method. In her eyes, it is but a means to an end.

THE MOTHER In this phase, the Spellweaver is in her prime, physically and mentally. Finally obtaining the power she so desired as a Maiden, Thothaga will began to lay down roots, expanding her lair, and weaving a legacy of her very own. Material instincts will began to take over, and she will feel a strong urge to propagate and raise children, even adopting other gembounds as her own. As a powerful matriarch, she offers guidance to her chosen brood, even forgoing her own self perseveration to courageously protect them from harm. In this phase, her selfishness has demised, for she no longer lives for just herself, but for her children as well.

THE CRONE The final and eternal phase of Thothaga will see her wizened and reclusive. When there are no more spells to learn, when she has seen all there is to see, the Spellweaver will hide away in her lair, waiting for those to seek her out for guidance. She does not retreat from gembound society because she hates company, but simply because there is nothing new to gain. Thothaga, is most harsh in this phase, poking fun or scolding the many tropes that she had noticed throughout her cycles. Despite this, she means well, simply not wanting certain histories to repeat themselves. She is content to step back and let the future of Origin soak up the light , and occasionally giving them nudge when they need they need it. To pull this gargantuan spider from her shroud, it will take a truly amazing anomaly, one in which the fate of the entire cave is effected.
