This one is the threat of the apocalypse the same way a needle is the threat of death. His gaze manages to be cold, searching despite the neon green glow of his eyes and the smoky heat of his vents, casting a fog about him like an omen. She is a machine of plague and rot and entropy—she walks like her steps could kill the ground below her, and considering the oil dripping from her jaws and the stone that shines sickly iridescent in the right light, maybe it could. Tsetse stands an imposing seven feet tall at the withers, her burnished body glowing a sickly neon green in the dark. Perhaps she could be mistaken for a horse, at a distance—but as one draws closer, they would see that to compare this Valkhound to a horse would be like comparing a being to the shape of its shadow. Six sets of legs support her instead of a horse's four; sickly lumps of flesh crowd her lower back, green eye-spots gleaming in their false sockets, giving the appearance of a crowd of skulls melted into one another. He possesses a long, draconic tail nearly the length of him that is lined with spines; the biggest, square-shaped ones rattle when he walks, tail swishing side to side and hooves trampling flowers beneath him. His voice is eerily modulated, emerging from the vents scattered over his head and neck rather than his actual mouth. She punctuates her words with whistles, clicks, and chitters to emphasize her tone—in the throes of chaos, she will scream, an awful, screeching, banshee-like noise akin to a broken tornado siren. He was born into corruption. From the moment of conception, from the instant his stone was sparked with life—he emerges from his oilstone chrysalis with visions of death and destruction flashing in his eyes. Whispers murmur in his head, showing him entropy, plague, ruin—murmuring chaos like a promise. They tell him with unspoken words: wouldn't you like to be like this? Oh, he does, he does! He enjoys more than anything, giving in, running feral, listening to nothing except the song of decay in his oil-black blood, snapping bones beneath his hooves and waiting for the body to melt before devouring the messy thing whole. He acts towards chaos with a devoted kind of patience. Tsetse puts plans in motion and waits eagerly for the results, knowing they will come in time, if only she waits. For her, the most enjoyment in chaos is found in the contrast of it—the before and after. The difference between the brightness in a living thing's eyes and the cloudiness in them after they've been driven mad with sickness makes a thrill dance up her spine. She will spend hours observing the natural flora of a clearing, noting the animals that run through it and feed on the plants, then ruin it all with purple-black taint, wilting the plants and dancing on the ruins. This pattern of observation and this search for knowledge influences his everyday life. His need to learn everything about the world around him will drive him to cross boundaries that shouldn't be crossed, invading others' lives and minds just to see how they tick. At times, however, Tsetse does possess a strange sort of softness. The way he learns so extensively about the world around him and the gembound that surround him can cause him to get... attached. In particular, he feels a kinship towards those of his kind—corrupted souls that bear oilstone upon their bodies just like him. Were one to tolerate his endless poking and prodding, to somehow develop a healthy, stable relationship with him... they would find a companion that would burn the world to make them happy.
