born into this world as little more than a black bundle of fur, his big fluff-tipped ears and over-sized paws are enough to make anyone coo. a kitten adjacent being. right now, relatively harmless.
born with four eyes, too many legs, and a lopsided, stone-heavy tail, he is a clumsy mess. stumbling, tripping over paws, mewling incessantly. you cannot help but love him, for he is innocent and defenseless. as he grows he will learn to control his bioluminescence, but as a kitten, his various spots will spark and glow almost at random. the light starts as a dark fuchsia, and quickly changes to a bright golden as though a million lightning bugs live in his blood. as an adult, he will end up about two feet to the shoulder, and nearly seven feet long, with lithe, agile legs and vicious retractable claws. his dark whiskers will grow long and even more sensitive. his tail will grow strong enough to hold aloft the dull grey stone that makes up some of his cephalopodic barbs, though it will never becomes particularly dexterous. an ill omen marks this child: a skull marking upon his forehead. the rest of his body is similarly dotted in ghostly markings like a black panther, and this is where his internal lightning shows. when his bioluminescence isn't active, other uv light causes these markings to show in varying shades between red and gold depending on the light's intensity. he is watching. po·lar·ize you are either a friend. or you are a foe. those who meet this gembound will find a black and white world, with no room for nuance or in-betweens. he is opinionated, clear cut, and particularly straight forward. typically those that do not like him will find the feeling mutual, however, those who like him may be ostracized for no apparent reason. there is a logic, but there is a lack of understanding that others may see the world differently. a great deal of anger and frustration will spawn from witnessing those who do idiotic things under notions that only he perceives, as he expects everyone knows what he knows. he is not easily moved to panic; though he will learn fear as all creatures do, his reaction to such will be to separate himself from the feeling. to be numb. this is how he will treat nearly all of his uncomfortable emotions: rejection. by contrast, he will feast on favorable emotion. should he be nurtured and encouraged, he shall become obsessive. anything that feeds into his narrow world view and builds him up will bring a feeling of exaltedness that he will chase with a vicious determination. no morals will steer him clear of selfishness; he does not abide by anything that will make him feel guilt. but he is still young. perhaps there is still time to save this soul.
