An entomophobe, ophidiophobe, and pyrophobe's worst nightmare, all at once.

An assassin created by Vargas, meant to wrap, crush, burn and kill, striking from the shadows without warning—an immense serpent, outsizing even a particularly large green anaconda at eighteen feet from snout to snapping, pincer-tipped tail. Deep purple in color, with mottled patterning down its back which aids in breaking up its outline in dense foliage or grass; tipped with dangerous, bristling quills to defend against an attack.

But this Valkhound is far more than a mere serpent; the six, slitted, unblinking eyes, the horns curving around the back of its skull, and (most of all) the insectoid legs spaced evenly at its front see to that. It glows with an internal violet light which seeps through its heat pits and glimmers at the tip of its tongue, making its face quite striking in darkness; although it will have to work to hide these tells while being stealthy.

Seven drips thick, dark Oil constantly, most often from the hard scutes plating its belly. These scutes are somewhat fire-resistant; luckily, as their engrained method of attack is to coil an enemy and set it afire with its innate cursed flame.

Their stone is a void-dark specimen of Oilstone, although one would only see it in the worst circumstances; it replaces its heart, beating with an innate chaos-magic of its own. If one were to be pressed up against its chest, its heartbeat would seem to echo.

Well, shit. Who gave the eighteen-foot-long serpent a god complex?

It's (probably) unintentional; it's just that being told "you were made special and when you grow up you will be taken to do great things" does something to a 'hound, especially when said Valkhound has the mind of a child and immediately internalizes it.

Yes, Seven knows they're special. And they'll act like it; there are other Valkhounds in the caves who were made for special purposes, such as their littermate Eight, but they're better than those other Valkhound. They're more special. It gives them confidence, yes; but perhaps a bit too much of it.

Also included in this package is a tendency towards a silver tongue. Seven's too young to have developed true charisma, not yet, but it's certainly on its way to it. It realizes quickly that saying certain words makes their fellow Valkhounds do certain things—and, perhaps, with the right words, it can make them do whatever it wants. For now it's just for petty pranks, but with that complex of its, sooner or later it's going to start ramping up.

Oh, also, it likes being warm. Like a snake does. And this one has fire. It'll happily bask in a sunbeam any day of the week; rolled over on its belly, cat-like, taking in the warmth. Perhaps this is the only time one would catch it half-asleep and content, instead of curled up quietly in a corner, plotting something.
