Have you ever seen a white-nosed coatimundi? It's the best thing. It's like if you mixed a badger with a possum and made it kind of bigger, I guess. They've got little grabby hands and a long semi-prehensile tail and funky snouts and funky noses and big old button eyes. And they're omnivores! They're the best. I think they're neat. Anyways, Vasil is like that. Don't talk to him about it though, he doesn't want to talk about it. mannerisms You might expect an arrogant nerd like Vasil to talk eloquently and vociferously just to make everyone else feel bad, but no. She is straight to the point, rather lax with vocabulary. It's already frustrating enough to get people to see the big picture, what's the point of obfuscating it further? Besides speech, Vasil tends to want to be fidgeting, gnawing on something, or pacing while in deep thought. She'd tell you it's because movement heats you up, which is true! But also, it helps her focus and think. gemstone Wood opal replaces a portion of Vasil's face surrounding and including their left eye. It's almost like a half-mask. The wooden bit blends in with their brown fur, but the difference in texture and the chromatic light caught by the opal quickly gives away the difference. Their left eye is replaced by a "tree eye"—a point in the bark wherein there is an eye-like swirl. Vasil can't see out of a cosmetic eye but it looks cool in my humble opinion. Personality
calculated risk Vasil conceptualizes every aspect of life in mathematical proofs, because it makes things predictable. Puzzling out the patterns behind a given situation can make you into an oracle of sorts, and Vasil's ego likes that power and security. They'd like to think themself a master mathematician in the world of people. This being said, they also love a certain kind of uncertainty. A kind of uncertainty that tests their skills of probability without ever actually threatening their dignity. They love the kind of challenge they know they are always going to win, because it makes them look even more correct. peace, order, and tranquility A meticulously orchestrated lack of fear creates a principled, straightforward, and perhaps surprisingly easygoing individual. They always must have plans and goals, ranging from simplistic to abstract, which guide their actions. The intentions behind their actions are striving towards the establishment of peace, order, and tranquility, which are good things "objectively" (according to them), because they are widely beneficial ideals. As such, Vasil does not care for the morality or perceived morality of their individual actions so long as they contribute to achieving of that ultimate good. It is all a part of the calculation. How shortsighted outsiders choose to judge them is expressly, explicitly, aggressively none of their concern, and they're not going to pretend to care just to preserve anyone's feelings. ghost in the machine Feelings are often illogical and add undesirable random variables to equations that should otherwise be simple. As such, Vasil prefers not to express emotions or allow them much sway in decision-making. However, Vasil may choose to sponsor, patronize, and guide others because of the cost-benefit ratio. Sometimes the most efficient choice accidentally winds up allowing the heart to attach itself, and that's only natural—there's no need to feel some sort of catholic guilt over that.
