Appearance

At first glance, Vastator is a dragon formed of woven wood, bleached to pale bone hue at his extremities. Oversized forelimbs leave him awkwardly stalking along with a splayed and hulking gait. He is overgrown and rotten-looking, a shambling beast of tattered wingleather and lipless fangs. Vastator is seventeen feet from snout to hip when his head is extended outward, and nearly thirteen when his head is fully upright.

His hide, rather than scaled, is thick and leathery bark-like tissue. The structure of the muscle and bones beneath are more akin to sap-fed plant tissue than true flesh. The green glow of his acidic blood is even visible in places: six eyes (four on his ocular horns--the structures extending back and upward from the side of his skull) and four nostrils, maw and the various points that open into his interior past thin sheets of hide. This he shares with his stonegiver, Titanite. Tattered tissue that might have been moss-like plant growth, or might have been shredded fins--or a mixture of both--hangs like thick, matted hair from his tail, throat and chest. Interspersed among this are numerous long, stiff, pointed quills infused with that same acidic, glowing blood, which is visible as a glow along their ends. Spines jut from various limbs, and each bears three forward-facing and two backward-facing digits with hooked claws.

Vastator's gemstone, a Titanite, forms a long, thin blade along the tip of his tail.

Personality

Vastator is a dominator tempered by intelligence. He is not a mindless beast lashing out for territory, like some other dragons in the caves, nor does he deliberately seek out others to harm. Indeed he is likely to find being alone to be unwelcome, preferring instead to try and gather what he would view as vassals to his glory: those who would serve him, in return for his protection--or his mercy.

He is methodical, and can be cruel, and will naturally search for ways to please his domineering instincts. That may lead him to try and harm others--be it physically or emotionally--in some way, if he thinks he can get away with it; or it may lead him to try and conquer, attempting to become a tyrant of his own little kingdom and army.

Although this is his nature, there is also every possibility that life will shape him differently. While aggressive, he is also calculating: not particularly manipulative or deceptive, nor impulsive. Vastator is quite able to try and reason out which steps would be best for him to take before he takes them. In all of this, he takes after his stonegiver's lifegiver, Master Vargas. His personality is quite like Vargas's, but without the framework of authority and discipline to guide it. His experiences, then, may change him completely--or not at all.
