Appearance
Vedette is tiny, but that doesn’t mean she’s not an absolute chore to deal with. For one thing, she’s covered in toxic, pointy quills, which makes grabbing and trying to handle her a terrible ordeal. Not to mention her venomous fangs, which inject the same toxin into anything she bites. Her bottom jaw splits into two for a wider and more powerful bite, and each section of jaw has rows of needle-like teeth, with her upper jaw the same, only with two slightly larger canines.
She has a dark and dusky coloring to blend in with the majority of cave environments, with dull grey-tan colored fur on her face and legs, matching the color of her wings. The tips of her wings, belly, and the insides of her legs are a lighter cream color, as well as her nose and around her eyes. Each foot has six thumbs to grip rock, making her able to hang upside-down and scale cave walls with ease, but flying up to where she needs to be and landing is much easier. It has the typical face and horns of a Springbok, giving her head a much more graceful appearance than the rest of her squirrely form. Her eyes are blood red with horizontal pupils that widen in darkness, allowing her to see. All in all, the perfect assassin. If only she wasn’t a complete asshole. In other words, smol. Personality
Two words can accurately describe Vedette. Screaming lunatic.
Right out the chrysalis she makes her opinion known, absolutely pissed off at everything and anything she sees, even taking a swipe at anyone stupid enough to try and grab her. If someone does try, she turns into a screaming mass of quills, teeth, and claws, cursing and snarling words that would make a sailor blush. Scout does feel happy sometimes, but her most familiar emotion is ‘grumpy’. Rarely is she in a good mood, and especially not when Vargas is nearby, for some reason she hates the giant purple grape monster especially. She does like his quills though, she’ll give him that. She does kind of like her ‘sibling’, the black watchhound that hatched with her, a small black puppy at first, before turning into a massive, tall, mysterious figure. They’re the only one she tolerates, aside from some of the other hatchlings, like Nidhogg, who she finds similarities with. But apparently this ball of seething, quilly hatred really likes to cause trouble, and if that trouble is caused by infiltrating groups and spying on them, then she’ll begrudgingly do so, but not without at least one tantrum. Venom (quills and fangs):
Generalized paralytic (affects a limb if bitten on the hand, for example). If bitten or quilled in the chest, it will cause full body sluggishness rather than full paralysis, like wading through tar. Pain also occurs, not quite excruciating but close. Not a good time, to say the least.
