This hybrid is rather diminutive, barely the size of finger's joint at emergence, and only growing to be four inches long. It is just as light as they are small, and can easily be picked up in one hand. It's appearance, aside from a few pointy bits, is very reminiscent of its stone-giver: a warm, dusty brown cloak covers the majority of its slinky-esque body, save for cream undersides and banded quills on the nape, shoulders, and rear. Lighter scales mark its cheeks, form ears (which are more suited to low tones and vibrations than actual sounds,) create a flexible shell on its back, and a somewhat armored and pliable tail. The tail is tipped in a keratinous scythe, though it is hardly sharp and doesn't contain any poisonous substance. Forepaws have long, padded toes and hooked claws for quick climbing and clinging to stones, while the hind paws are simply padded like a weasel's. Its teeth are very small, close to the tongue. While it has a capacity to consume meat, its definitely more suited to hunting down insects.

The gemstone is embedded deep in the flesh of the esophagus. It's a rough red chunk of cinnabar that won't hurt by itself. Symptoms of mercury poisoning will gradually appear and build before, unless somehow treated, causing this gembound's death at 29 cycles.

Venus's ability to know themselves is on par with water's ability to stay dry. They're a bit of a wild card, with wildly different interpretations of scenarios. They can be a bit of a hypocrite, reacting to things negatively one second but turning around and doing that same thing they put down before. They're friendly enough, as positive as they can be, but they have a bit of a temper and get frustrated easily. Their mood easily dips from upbeat positivity to hopeless, depressed, and inconsolable only a moment later. They react emotionally to things, despite their best efforts to keep them in control. It's not uncommon to see them wearing a mask to control those emotional roller coasters and they don't often show their true selves to people. Instead, they show a character akin to a rebellious teenager, never doing what they're told, doing things their own way, talking back, giving attitude, and playing tough.

Venus wasn't made to be a leader. They don't have any of the necessary skills to be one, from their complete lack of organization to their general disregard for rules. Giving Venus any kind of responsibility would be less productive then having a rock do the same job. They don't really like doing what they're told if they're not volunteering willingly. Not out of any kind of malicious intent, but more out of an inability for their brain to focus on tasks they're not interested in. They choose what they like to do or they're probably not going to get anything done. At least what they do choose to do, you can be sure they'll be passionate about it at least.

For some reason, Venus doesn't really seem to have much regard for danger, either. Potentially dangerous situations usually don't register to them immediately. They'll just as easily step into Polaris as they would step into Hydra. It's not exactly a complete loss of their capability to sense danger, its more of a "I laugh in the face of danger HA HA HA HA" and not freaking out when three hyenas crawl out of the giant skeleton behind them. They've picked up their life-giver's sense of curiosity and adventure and have a desire to explore and learn. They also always have an instinctual need to be doing something. It doesn't matter what they're doing, as long as they're doing it. Unless it's something they don't want to do, in which case, they will not do anything. For some reason.
