Appearance

Wolf Splishy Splashy Fishbeard is a fish. But not just any fish. The best fish. The biggest alpha fish there is. And you know why? Because she's special, thank you very much.

Wolf Splishy Splashy Fishbeard's body is 14 inches long. The best length. No scales, just squishy skin that squeaks a bit when you poke it. Scales are for losers anyway. Little nubby skin... things... bud off her skin in little bumps. Her skin color's always changing because she has awesome anime powers-- no, not really. It just happens to slowly shift to match her surroundings over several weeks, drifting from speckled brown to bright red to ghostly white or pitch black as nature dictates. May as well be superpowers though.

She has three fins. None of them look much like fins, because of her "super werewolf DNA" (read: evolutionary history). One pair drags her along the seafloor, another pair help and the third just sit there. Wolfy's stout body means they all kinda crowd together. She doesn't swim much, and when she does it's very slow and painstaking. Her tailfin is wide and good for slapping people. Little paw-shaped markings are on the inside of her fins, funnily enough.

Wolfy's head takes up a good chunk of her rotund body, and just as squishy as ever. Her wide mouth can pop out at will, which makes it very good for dramatic cutscene monologues. It's always scowling. Her pretty violet eyes (the mark of a protagonist!) are simultaneously bulbous and pinpricks. They make her look like she's in a constant state of terror. Or stupor. Or both. There's a bright orange mark on her forehead at all times. No, it's not a marker prank. It's supposed to be a lure to bring lessers near, but she's yet to stay quiet long enough for it to work.

Random bits of lichen and mold stick to her flesh. She has a very fishy voice full of awkward pauses and overexaggerated sounds. Above water it comes out much more garbled as she finds difficulty speaking in dry air.

Under her chin are several thin black tufts. It's her stone. Even though it looks like a bad beard. The millerite mineral's rather delicate so she has to be careful not to bump into anything. Or bodyslam people.

Personality

Wolf Splishy Splashy Fishbeard does not have many brain cells. Less than average intelligence. She's a fish, after all. This culminates best the way she's fully and completely convinced she shapeshifts into a wolf at night.

What other explanation could there be for what she goes through? Somedays she falls asleep only to wake up far from the water. Not only that, but she can breathe in plain air! Most of the time, anyway. The only logical conclusion's that she somehow became a canine, walked some distance out of whatever pond she's napping in, and then poofed back to her regular form before waking up. The truth's much more boring. All she has is poor sleeping patterns and a tendency to sleepwalk/swim, including out of the water. Once she wakes up and realizes she's suffocating, she instinctively fires every spell she’s got to keep her from death. A fact she quietly chooses to spin into “airbreathing” for the sake of the "story".

But why a wolf, specifically? Who knows. Who knows.

Beyond that Mrs. Wolfy has a bad case of "cheap anime protagonist" syndrome. Blindly heroic. But only when she gets to brag about it later. Vague emo statements. Sees herself as flawless. Constantly attempting to be "edgy". Lamenting upon her "werewolf's curse" at every possible moment. She doesn't see others much as people, just props or npcs or side characters while she gets to be the hero.

But Wolf Splishy Splashy Fishbeard is just as much an anime boy's fangirl. The moment she meets someone that excuses the kind of hero energy she likes, she swoons. And then immediately tries to one-up/defeat/"super obliterate" them because there can be only one hero in the caves. It's confusing. Sort of like a tsundere or yandere, but 100% more fish.

Wolfy's a blabbermouth whose emotions easily overpower her (during which she often sulks off to "turn into a wolf"). However, she finds solace in the only hobby she has: crudely drawing figures onto underwater stones with her fins. It's mainly just depictions of her current rival/crush.
