Appearance

Built strong and sound, Xerxes is massive compared to a regular lion, though noticeably shorter. Weighing in at 600lbs and a staggering 11ft in length, he is only a bit over 3ft tall at the withers. A slow mover most of the time, don't let it fool you. He's a freight train of an animal, and you definitely don't want to get in his way. Although shorter than the average African lion, his muscle and general size make up for it.

His mane is equally large in comparison, perfectly framing a handsome face and covering the entirety of his neck and chest and blanketing over his back and shoulders like the skin of another animal. It hangs down between two stumps for legs and fades out around his naval.

Xerxes is entirely black from head to tail except for deep, sapphire colored eyes and his garnet ram horns set perfectly around his ears and somehow neatly atop his mane, yet sprouting from some where within. Despite his age, he barely has a scar disrupting his otherwise near perfect skin and coat, leaving him sleek and shiny. He keeps himself well groomed these days, despite often singeing his mane while practicing his fire.

Personality

LAZY | PROTECTIVE | HOT HEADED | FRIENDLY | SARCASTIC Xerxes comes off as aloof and hardly a gentle giant, but perhaps that's just how lions are. Lumbering around when not lazing around, he's hardly much different than a lion you'd find in the real world. He prefers to spend most of his days lately lounging around and enjoying lengthy naps where ever he finds most comfortable that day. While he may be lazy and never turn down a good nap, he's at least friendly despite a lions true nature. He appears standoffish and like he wouldn't be friendly, but Xerxes never really mastered holding a grudge or being angry for no reason like others he'd met.

However, it isn't exactly hard to anger him. Fire courses through his veins even without the magick and he's been known to let it show maybe once or twice. He's protective to his core and would probably die trying to save someone if he cared enough for them. Unfortunately, while he is friendly, he's not exactly the easiest to befriend these days. His sarcasm borders on the verge of harsh truth and oftentimes it's near impossible to tell if he's kidding or not. The only real way to tell is if he laughs after or not, or if you're close enough of a friend to just know his humor. He's a pretty laidback guy and easy to get along with, though due to his past he chooses to let very few in.
