Appearance

This creature appears to be a typical oriental dragon, but highly attuned to weather by nature. Its color and pattern, and even mood, are influenced by the current weather patterns of the cave it is in, probably for camouflage. Fourteen feet long including the tail, it's mostly shining scales with fur down its spine, around the face and feathering its legs and tail. It's very light weight and can use certain Pressure spells to appear to float, but cannot fly or float on its own. Has gills and is capable of breathing water, but given the fur and shape, it cannot swim as well as native water creatures.

Owlish eyes are framed by a mask of fur that is always slightly darker than its shifting colors, and a long, feather-like eyebrow. Tusks jut front and back from its jaws. A labradorite sits at its chest, its gray and blue hues shifting in the natural way that labradorite does, often reflecting the creature's colors to some extent. It has small, smooth horns.

Clear or bright weather lightens its color to pearly white, and it is affected by a tendency toward cheerful moods.

Cloudy or misty weather leaves it various shades of gray, and an introspective mood affects it.

Rain leaves it a deeper blue, and a sleepy or sad mood affects it.

Heavy storms excite it, bringing out more intense emotions, often a thrilled or risk-taking feeling. These leave it deep, steely blue-gray or even almost black, and at these times static clings to its fur and darts around it in little flashes.

Weather's effects on its moods are physical, but with discipline it can learn to overcome or ignore them.

It does not have a venom, but it does emit a perpetual low-grade pheromone that may affect nearby creatures who inhale it with the same mood-influencing effects the weather has on it.

Personality

Yanyue is a creature whose mood shifts along with the weather, quite literally. While discipline can overcome the ever-changing moods that Yanyue has, Yanyue probably won't see any reason to do that. Yanyue is content to change along with the world around it, being shaped by surroundings as Yanyue naturally is.
