At first glance, Angel is an armored humanoid puma with one wing. Their gem sticks out like a horn in the middle of their breastplate, while their tail is loose like the end of a rattlesnake's.

Angel primarily utilizes anaerobic digestion to break down food and water for energy. Ingested sulfur, which is converted to sulfur dioxide, breaks down the excess hydrogen sulfide of their digestion to use with sulfate-reducing microorganisms in their intestines. These process iron, silver, copper, nickel, lead, and zinc, but zerovalent iron is the most valuable and preferred for its purity. Iron is bound with sulfates to create a ferrous sulfide, greigite, which is then deposited as waste on a specialized epidural layer in the form of armor. TL;DR: Organically mineralized greigite, with the same hardness as raw iron, is made from eating metal and makes up their armor.

Their armor has varying speeds of growth, primarily creating pointed edges on the greaves, gauntlets, and tassels, while also thickening considerably on the chest. Growth is tied to both food and metal intake; not a lot of metal, not a lot of recovery. The base of the tail has some musculature under the leather and armor to allow for very minimal movement; the rest of it is purely discarded skin where most of the excess greigite is deposited. Blood vessels shrink over time until the deadened end breaks off and the new piece scars over with feathers.

Their feathers are a sandy blonde at the top of their head and the tip of their tail. The former mimics hair, while the latter is due to how their scar tissue develops; particularly inelegant healing scars over with feathers instead of fur. Their singular left wing isn't remarkable other than having a deep indigo fade at the ends of the outer feathers.

Ears are replaced by wing-like structures with wide discs that have a large range of motion. They possess carpal whiskers on both their wrists and ankles. Angel has a normal puma's mouth, albeit with diluted nitric acid in their saliva and gastric fluids to oxidize and digest the metals they eat. (The nitric acid is produced via potassium nitrate and sulfuric acid derived from the sulfur oxide mentioned earlier!) This allows for grooming of their armor, allowing them to strip away damaged pieces with enough patience. It also makes them smell mildly bitter and salty. And, for some reason, a little banana-y..?

They don't particularly have a sense of honor or justice. They're just doing what sounds like they should be doing, going with the flow of life. Not much ends up bothering them until their personal space is violated and they have to defend themself. They kind of just... don't see a reason to care, otherwise. As long as they're satisfied, they're able to take a considerable amount of strain through sheer, defensive apathy.

They don't really want the turmoil of unveiling that apathy. Best to leave it to fester. Nothing bad ever happens because of that.

- Anthro puma-like being with one wing.
