Appearance

Edeltraud is relatively small as cave creatures go, around two feet at the shoulder. Her frame is mostly hidden beneath her thick wool. She is warm black beneath a rough but straight silver coat. The transition is stark, going from silver body to black legs and underbelly. A strip of that black leads up to her face, gently faded around the edge and face. Around her eyes that black pales slightly, enough to have a visible brown tint. Her eyes are pale yellow beneath heavy lashes. At the center of her gently sloping snout lies a smooth glassy oval of brown tourmaline. Her face is small yet alert, with small flicking black ears beneath a short pair of ivory horns.

As a lamb, Edeltraud looks like a tiny spot of night given consciousness. Her fur curls softly, but it will gradually straighten with time. As a child, her eyes are a dark brown. As she ages, they will gradually fade into the pale yellow her adult form has. Edeltraud carries herself daintily, with high steps. Her voice is small and childlike, high pitched upon the ears.

Personality

Edeltraud is a sheep in the most honest of terms. She is a small, vulnerable herd animal and she feels it with every fiber of her being. With every creature she sees any size larger than her, with every exposed fang or pointed claw, she feels like the prey she is. Even though she remains in this constant state of duress, Edeltraud remains polite. She has a mask of positivity and levity she keeps up, though significant stress will fracture this mask. Edeltrude is inherently cowardly, and shies away from direct combat.

To combat her constant feelings of being small and inadequate, Edeltraud will surround herself with creatures smaller than her, using her magic to keep her pets in line. She is oddly empathetic towards them, and gives them each names. Collectively, Edeltraud refers to her horde as her 'dolls'. Despite a small part of herself being aware that none of the lessers she controls are there voluntarily, she chooses to ignore this voice. Ignorance is bliss, after all. If anything, the awareness that her beloved pets are not voluntarily following her only amplifies her possessiveness of them.
