Appearance

Gaul takes most of their appearance from their stone-giver, looking almost like a polar-bear sized Gaur, really.

They will stand five feet at their shoulder as an adult, and their head tends to stick straight out, the top of their skull even with their shoulders. Their head has the general shape of a polar bear, although they have the muzzle and eyes of their gaur parent, a gorgeous bright blue in color. While little more than nubs as a child, as they grow they sprout an impressive pair of horns, gleaming and twisting back and kept in perfect shape.

Their body is largely gaur, if somewhat bulkier, down to a bovine tail that's shorter than it should be. Their fur is largely golden brown, taking on the white of their life-giver around its muzzle and legs. Its forelegs end in its life-giver's feet, massive, clawed paws, while its hind legs are hooves, its rightmost leg ending in an amber gemstone hoof.

Their body-language often seems tired, although it could also be described as 'lazy'. Slouching shoulders and slow movements give the appearance of a harmless beast, but they are capable of moving incredibly fast in bursts, allowing them to hunt and eat. Even their speech is slow, drawled and often slurred together in a way that resembles almost a southern drawl.

Personality

Gaul is... well, they're none too bright. All brawn, no brain, really.

They've got a good heart, one could say. Gaul holds their friends close, their family closer. Their friends are family to them, and they'd happily give their life for them. Gaul, however, is not one for violence--they turn the other cheek, one could say, baring their shoulder to whoever is going after them. If someone is going after one of their friends, they'll step in between, using their bulk as a living shield. Once they have the Magic for it, they'll make an earth or gem shield.

They're a rather simple Gembound, content to play with their Magic, laze with their family, and enjoy the simpler things in life. A cool gulp of water, a particularly tasty meal, although they love shiny things as well. Shiny things and pretty things, actually: a particularly pretty feather, a handsome cave deer striding by. They only hunt what they need to survive, although considering their size that is rather a lot, but otherwise they are happy to watch Lesser Gembounds go about their lives, sprawling out as they watch their prey go about their lives.
